We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorna Rosenblum and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorna, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I have always been inspired to create beautiful food that makes people happy. Since going vegan 5 years ago, that motivation has been amplified 10 fold. My goal when I create a recipe is to challenge omnivores and herbivores a like to redefine their idea of what vegan food looks like. To hopefully inspire them to consider that eating a plant-based diet can look almost exactly like what their current diet is now.
Please tell us more about your business. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today business-wise. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Hungry Herbivore Kitchen is Boulder’s only 100% plant-based meal delivery service and virtual market place. We are a one stop shop for getting the best vegan eats all under one roof. We offer a wide variety of locally made vegan products from artisan pastries, to vegan cheeses and frozen burritos. Our menu also changes weekly giving our customers the opportunity to try variety of vegan cuisines from all over the world. Hungry Herbivore Kitchen is now going into it’s third week of business, so we are very new and have not faced a ton of major challenges yet. Of course, starting a business with almost no background in business can be very daunting, but I just try take things day by day.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If one of my best friends were to visit here I would take them hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park or skiing up at Winter Park. To eat I would take them to try the best tacos in Boulder at Cilantro and for the best Pho at Boulder Pho. Both have awesome vegan options!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is dedicated to all the small vegan businesses out there (especially those in the Boulder/Denver area) for being such great sources of support and mentorship, but also just friends. I love the vegan community in this area and how much everyone is rooting for one an-others success.
