We had the good fortune of connecting with Manu Ghaffari and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Manu, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
If I start something new it ought to be high quality.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Starting a water polo club in Colorado where very few people know about the sport was very difficult. We started with 6 swimmers in 2005 (two of them my own kids.) Before the Pandemic we had about 60 players in different age groups. However quality came first. I always wanted the best coaches, pools, equipment, practices and programs for our athletes.
Many of our athletes qualified for the Mountain Zone teams. Some moved on to play in college division 1 and 3. One got on the USA National Women’s team and became an NCAA and world champion.
Our 12U Mixed team came in third in the country at the 2019 Junior Olympics.
I as a coach won some awards, Mountain Zone coach of the year, ODP coach of the year, and USA Water Polo coach of the year.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The mountains, the pool, University of Colorado campus where I worked for 24 years, and some good restaurants.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My wife, Elisa Snyder and our children, Mitra and Bijan Ghaffari
