Meet Marlowe Crown | Real Estate Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlowe Crown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marlowe, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor in the success of my real estate brand is transparency and honesty. When providing service for buyers and sellers, I want them to feel like they are part of the decision making and understand my process from start to finish. While I always bring forward my industry expertise to advise my client’s throughout a transaction, I want them to feel involved to the degree that makes them comfortable and approach it with a team mentality. I implement tried and true sales and marketing tactics when helping sellers market their property. From 10 years of experience in not only real estate but other marketing/sales roles, I know what works to help seller’s achieve the highest price for their home and working with seller’s who trust that process is the absolute best. In order to gain that trust with my sellers, transparency is key. Showing them my plan and why it works always helps people feel at ease when we are working to sell their property. Similarly, when working with buyers, my years of negotiation practice learned through commercial real estate in New York helps their offers stand out. I love building trust with my client’s through transparency and it is absolutely at the core of the success of my business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My real estate experience started in NYC when I was 22 years old. I began working in residential rentals under a fabulous mentor who became a dear friend, Tyler Whitman. In 2015, I decided I wanted to take a stab at the commercial real estate world and pursued an opportunity at Tishman Speyer leasing Rockefeller Center’s 6.5 million square feet of office space. This experience lends itself to what I feel sets me apart in my real estate business in Denver. It helped me gain the confidence to talk to and work with anyone without intimidation and with a high level of poise and professionalism. I also learned from the best of the best in how to negotiate every detail of a real estate transaction. While commercial real estate has a higher need for negotiation, it still comes up with every residential deal and my confidence helps my client’s tremendously. Throughout my career, I am most proud of my decision to go off on my own in residential real estate in Denver in 2023. While I am fortunate to work at The Agency and leverage their brand and wonderful agents for support, it was a huge leap for me to start the Marlowe Crown brand on my own. Some weeks, I wish I were on a team, but the sense of accomplishment I feel from nurturing a lead all the way to a closed deal on my own is immense. I am dedicated to providing each client I work with a very high level of service and to make each of them feel like they are the only client – when I may in fact be juggling several at once. This takes work and time management but the second I feel like I am not able to provide that to each person, that is when I know I have overextended myself. A key lesson I have learned in going off on my own in my real estate business is to trust my gut instincts, while taking in the advice from others. It is so important to hear what other people have to say, listen intently and expect to learn. However, what I keep going back to is that my gut gets the final say. Whether I have drafted an email or prepared a listing presentation – getting insight and advice is crucial but when I have had the most success is when I listened to my gut instincts first.
I want the world to know that when buying and selling real estate in denver or aspen, when you choose the Marlowe Crown brand what you are getting is me. I am behind every conversation, email, and transaction and I conduct myself with the highest level of integrity. I am only every competing against myself to off the best service I can and to build that service up from one deal to the next.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If someone were visiting me in Denver, we would start with a walk around one of our many beautiful neighborhoods. Maybe we start in Cherry Creek at Aviano to grab a matcha or a coffee, bring computers fire off some emails then pack up to head to wash park for a walk. Walking around both the fabulous residential streets to take in the varying architecture and the park itself you can get some sun and exercise coffee in hand. From there, I would have lunch at the back patio at Vert Kitchen for a nice quiet change of pace. After lunch, maybe its time to do a little shopping back in cherry creek. Our many wonderful boutiques are not only filled with trendy clothes/accessories but nice people that are eager to help! After some shopping, I would head to forget me not to sit outside by a fire pit and enjoy a delicious cocktail. After a drink, dinner would be at Matsuhisa for some incredible sushi!
If someone were visiting me in Aspen – depending on the season, the first thing I would do would be snowboarding or hiking. From there, I always love to grab lunch at Clarks- fries, chicken paillard, and aperol spritz! After that, shopping is on the menu… the opportunities for luxury are endless but I always love hitting up The Little Bird for some consignment options! After shopping and cleaning up from the active day, I would grab dinner at Catch with friends.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout is to the women at The Agency Denver. From our leader at the top, Kacey. Bingham to our top agents, new agents, and everyone in between, the welcoming culture in our office has uplifted me towards success. Coming from a NYC real estate background, then taking time off of work to have children, to rejoin a brokerage filled with successful women I could have felt hugely intimidated. Instead, I felt supported and welcomed. Every woman at The Agency Denver has at one time or another lifted me up and offered advice, help, or just a pat on the back. This level of camaraderie among the women in our office is not to be taken lightly. If there is one way an organization can help women thrive and tap into their full potential, it is to focus on the hiring of each and every person to make sure you end up with a group of people who want to see other’s succeed as much as themselves – not just top producers. To only focus on individuals who have a high sales volume in hiring processes is detrimental to the success of the whole organization. Simple numbers would say, multiple people who feel uplifted and supported and happy at work have a higher overall potential than just one person who sells the most but pushes other’s down. I feel like The Agency globally has done an incredible job of upholding this standard throughout all of their brokerages through their number 1 rule… no assholes.
