We had the good fortune of connecting with Marsh Lahowetz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marsh, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always had a passion for creating and I think having the opportunity to monetize my time while still doing something that I love, was just a no brainer.

Most social media platforms also offer their own way of earning money and it’s been a privilege to have access to the tools that I do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I would like to think that sets my art apart from others is to be visually invoking a specific emotion or experience with characters that are not of our world. I’m fascinated with linework and experimenting with thickness in different styles clicks with different people.

I would have to say that I’m still on this professional journey. But building my portfolio with murals and personalized commissions has been rewarding in itself.

I’ve learned that community is everything and while networking is can be intimidating, the connections that one can create are priceless.

I would like the world to know that I’m a 25 year old, queer Mexican-American creator who loves the weird and wonderful! My brand is a reflection of the art I create and how I perceive the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The places I think of off the top of my head are Mutiny Café, Denver Art Society, Herb & Arts, & Obento!

Mutiny is a wonderful café filled with books, comics, & tapes!! YES TAPES! They even have a cereal bar and always have different things going on from comedy nights to poetry slams! They’ve been around since the 90s and Broadway wouldn’t be the same without them!

Denver Art Society is an amazing art gallery co-op, their displays change once a month and they host musical artists too during the First Fridays! I’ve met a lot of insanely talented artist there.

Herb & Arts is a stunning metaphysical shop that’s also been around since the 90s and it’s my one stop shop for custom tea blends and candles.

Last but not least, Obento is a restaurant on the 16th Street mall and absolutely everything on their menu is filling and satisfies the sushi craving.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shout-out is to the Denver art scene in general. There’s so much opportunity for networking and finding out more about a passion in a real and serious matter helped me make the decisions that were right for me. I’ve met amazing people and been able to see some breathtaking art.

Keep being weird, Denver!
