Meet Matt McKenzie | Director of Lead Generation at The Jordan Terrell Group

We had the good fortune of connecting with Matt McKenzie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Matt, what matters most to you?
Integrity is the most important principle to me in both business and personal life. Integrity means being whole. Doing what you say you’re going to do. Holding yourself accountable for your actions and speaking the truth at all times. What’s defines us as successful is not just how big we build our businesses but how we treated others in the process. You can’t take your possessions with you when you pass from this earth but you can leave a legacy of how you lived. Our character will take us farther than any bit of talent ever could. It’s a priceless asset.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am the Director of Lead Generation at the Jordan Terrell Group. I am responsible for beginning relationships with 73% of our clients we work with each year. We are actively talking to a little over 1200 people at any given time. I am responsible for the managing the relationship between them and the agents on my team. I also get to oversee our database and have built systems and processes to help maintain our client relationships. We manage over 25,000 relationships currently.
Day one on the job for me looked something like this. Had 10 mins of training with Jordan Terrell our lead broker. He got a call from a client and had to go show homes. He was gone for 4 hours and in that 4 hours I set him 4 more appointments. Training was over and we haven’t looked back since. I have grown and scaled our lead conversion systems and processes ever since then. This hasn’t been easy. Real estate is a dynamic and ever changing business. We have to adapt quickly and think 5 steps a head of the rest of our competition. Building relationships is tough.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve been able to learn through my career thus far is that listening is the fastest way to build trust with anyone. Helping people feel seen, heard and known touches the deepest need of the human soul and the fast we start listening the more meaningful relationships we have. I want to be known as someone who helped others feel seen, known and loved for who they are.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
1. Breakfast at Bacon Social House in the Highlands 2. Grab a Coffee at Sweet Bloom Coffee in Arvada
3. Golf at either Walnut Creek in Westminster or Fossil Trace in Golden
4. Catch a ball game in the afternoon at Coors Field
5. Dinner at El Five in Lohi.
6. Drinks at the Milk Market or 7 Grand
You can’t go wrong with that day.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost my Heavenly Father. He formed me in my mother’s womb, intricately wove me when I was nothing but a speck. He’s given me a purpose, a mission and a mind to help me in my success.
Secondly, my wife Rebecca. She’s my rock, my constant source of encouragement, the love of my life and my biggest reason for my success. She is ten times wiser, a harder worker and mature than I could ever be. Love you babe!
Thirdly, Jordan Terrell. Jordan is the leader of our organization. He’s fearless, always calling the best out of people. He’s way more invested in the success of others than his own success. He’s put me in my lane and given me the trust it takes to be successful.
Last but not least, my friend, coach and business partner Robby T. Robby is one of the most selfless, caring, sharpening people I know. He’s helped me grow and scale my business to new heights.
