We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan McCrae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Megan, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
I have always been unconventional. Ive always been an outside the box thinker. when you truly are this type of personality, may considerate being a black sheep, rebel etc. I have since a young age been seen as defiant, persistent, convicted and no one really knew what to do about it or had the ability to understand this type of mentality. It’s the risk takers the ones who stray, the ones who believe that we don’t always have to do what society thinks is best for us. The 9-5, the social security, the house with assets the acquisitions that make us respectable. So far from true ” in my opinion ” We are in control of our own happiness and what that looks like for everyone is different.
The conventional advice or words of discouragement that I disagree with were constant from outsiders and never from industry professionals or anyone who was or knew what to be an etrepeuner entailed. Statements such as :You’re not stable, to what about retirement or medical or stability are you ever going to stay put or settle down? . I disagree with this so hard.!

My idea of success is 1. being happy 2. Working remotely so I can travel 3. Not working for 40 years acquiring and being in debt to financing institutions, just so I can have a good 10 years of retirement but instead live simply, live the next 40 years as IF I was retired while still balancing work life and personal relations and living for myself and my daughter. To me this is a no brainer and glad I kept going. Self advocacy: involving taking action to live your best life and trusting your gut.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Hi! My name is Megan McCrae and I’m a veteran of the USAF and my attention to detail and my love for beauty and doing hair and makeup for friends and Xo workers made me go and make my passion a career. I decided to start and event company which was what I now call my stepping stone. For running a successful business. With this experience I moved to Los Angeles where I really dig my heels into the idea of creating an agency tailored to editorial, fashion forward thinking with multiple hair , makeup and wardrobe stylists. Soon after my career and love for the snow it led me to Colorado where I expanded the same mentality but targeted Colorado as well which was more focused on bridal as well as modeling agencies. With the extensive knowledge for fashion , editorial, natural beauty enhancement and on hands organization and planning experience with different nationalities within the regions is where we feel we excel in the bridal niche , let alone the reward of being part of someone’s most important day. Since then we decided to scale down a bit and not focus on volume yet quality with hand selected long term employed master artists and service now California and Hawaii. Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I LOVE Breckenridge & Glenwood Springs. With the pleasure of doing multiple mountain weddings and the travel associated there are many resort towns but none that capture my heart than Breckenridge and Glenwood Springs Co. Since my friends and I share similar interests they would also love nature vs the city so were all cards in for camping, snowboarding, white river rafting, sandwiches on the river, a glass or three of wine in the evening! Why come to Colorado to be stuck in a building!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My significant other Nikko and my family. Post covid as we all know was very hard on many, including myself and behind me was this very special individual who kept reminding myself what I give back to women why I do what I do. I am extremely grateful that I have the support system I do at home. Mahalo and much love to this man, my mother, daughter and stepfather..
