We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Flores and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Hi. As I become more experienced in work life balance, change comes with the territory. Being in the industry of life safety is demanding but so is my family. To me, nothing is more important than family. I think about my future often and I couldn’t imagine missing milestones in their lives and overall being close to them when compared to putting my career first. To be honest I won’t take any job no matter the pay, if I feel it will impede on my family negatively. Doesn’t mean I’m not a hard and efficient worker. My day to day activity revolves around getting as much done as possible without missing a thing within my family unit. My mantra is “you are never to busy for family” we all get 24 hours in a day and it’s about making every second count towards what matters most to you.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from others is my efficiency and my ability to make time when needed. I manage 32 states with 100s of companies that need something from me at any given time and day. I am able to say “no problem” and meet their needs without sacrifice of my families needs.
Being kind and generous is a plus. You never get more than your willing to give. If you have to think about giving…then you are not giving you are trading.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s easy. Breakfast (Denver biscuit company), early morning hike through Red Rocks, grab a beer at Westminster Beer Company, eat lunch at Fire on the Mountain, walk McGregor Square area, eat dinner at Sam’s #1.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Credit goes towards the decade of positive leaders, friends, parents and wife. I’ve had a lot of positive reinforcement in my life from people that believe in my path to being happy.
