We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda Hernandez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miranda, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
There is a saying I love. “In this world, you’re either growing or you’re dying, so get in motion and grow.” by Lou Holtz. Which is my nudge that you are either moving forward (and moving forward is always difficult) or you are stagnant and have already seen the greatest you’ll ever be.

For me, that’s motivation to continue. To define what exactly is hard about what I’m doing, and then do it on purpose. The very best things in this life require something from you. For me, giving up is not an option, I want to grow in this life, so that’s what I will do. Each challenge is an opportunity, and this may make me sound really put together, but to me even if you grow kicking and screaming you still grow, so it counts!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It’s always difficult to pinpoint when I started doing what I do because it may be more clear to ask when I didn’t do what I do for work. Organization and systems have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Some of the stories my parents like to tell are that I would sit on the bed as they got ready for their day and picked lint off my tights or dumped out all my hair bows and pins just to reorganize them all over. I don’t know that I could live a different way if I tried.

All that said, what really made an impact was meeting an entrepreneur. I became close friends with Latisha Hardy, who went from a cooperate American job to opening a dance studio, and might I add, did it well! I was in awe that they were able to pursue something they loved and make a living doing so. Not to mention inspire and empower so many people in the process, myself included.

It was through this friendship that I really began to see my gift for systems as being beneficial to others. That’s when I began Solutions By Miranda. Originally intended to make business owners’ lives easier, more organized, and creative. Yet becoming a platform for Business Owners to find true self-expression through their own superpower in the world.

This journey was easy in some sense and incredibly difficult in others. Easy in that I so naturally am able to bring organization to any place I’m in, yet difficult in learning how to create a brand, voice, boundaries, attract my ideal client, and so many other things that every business owner knows well.

The thing that kept me going and still does to this day is that I am driven by people’s visions being realized, I believe that the ideas we have are worth coming to fruition. If I can back up a creative with strong systems to effectively grow their business, the world is better. And I’m better right along with it.

What I would like the world to know about my story is that “your seemingly small gifts and talents are valuable, that your dreams and passions are worth the pursuit. It’s always worth jumping in.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love an itinerary! We would start with a coffee and snack from The Exchange. I would recommend the “Honey I’m Home” of course. We would jump on a downtown scooter and make our way through the shops down Tejon first, of course stopping at Eclectic, Lady Fingers, maybe another coffee at Story (for a Honey Lavender Latte! We would then drive over to Colorado and walk through the shops there, Heartshake Studios, that one with the game boards whose name I can not recall, and Simple Products. We would grab a bite to eat and a drink (Daddy Issues!) at none other than Principal’s Office! Then, Take the party to Latisha Hardy Dance and take a dance class with Tish herself! Afterward, we would get dolled up and finish the night at Epiphany Restaurant and Bar for live music, great drinks, and dinner!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would be remiss to take this shoutout without acknowledging the community that helped me be who I am today. To my beautiful and powerful partner, Tish for helping me see my own gifts and talents and encouraging me to share them with the world. I would not be who I am without you cheering me on. And to my family, Your words, belief, feedback, accountability, and love keep me going when I don’t think I’m strong enough. Thank you for seeing me as big and powerful and holding me to my own high standards.
