We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Cross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Molly, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Photography found me. I did not believe I had a gift in anything. I had no career desire in High School until I picked up my camera. I bought my first camera, a Canon Rebel T1i and decided to go all into my passion that winter after graduating high school. I have a God given gift. Why would I not pursue this career? I haven’t regretted my pursue in the photography world one bit.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It has been an adventure. What a wild ride. I try to be set apart from others by my style of photography and sense of bringing out the Colorado adventure. I absolutely love being in the outdoors and will portray that into my photographs and capturing the moment whatever that may look like. I am self taught so to get to be a professional has been a journey for sure. I started out right after high school. Photography has not been easy for me at all. For me to it has been a learn and grow experience. I am truly convinced that my followers, friends and family are the best supporters. Without them I am not sure where I would be in my journey with photography. From having loosing thousands of gear in Iceland to a sneaker wave, to having my camera die from ware and tear in a photoshoot it has been a lot of lessons along along the way.

I want the world to know about my story is that you can do it! You just have to do one day at a time and sometimes just a moment. Don’t be afraid of failure because from that you can grow in your business. I want people to appreciate true beauty and God’s creation with my photography. My style of photography is to capture how it was seen organic and natural with no harsh editing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area we would live the week up. We would probably eat all the ice cream places we could find, go get Colorado pizza Beau Joe’s Pizza and go to Human Bean Coffee Stand. We would head up to Rocky Mountain National Park and go on a hike and then head to Horsetooth Reservoir for sunset. Probably decide on one bucket list item and go knock that off. Stay at a cool Airbnb expierence and then the next day we would be be up in the mountains somewhere crossing off another destination. Before we know, the week is over and we would be planning another visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to recognize all my friends and family members who have seen me from the get go. I do not think I would be here without their support and love. Even the ones that have just joined my journey, they all mean the world to me.
