We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Linder and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
The ability and autonomy to work on the projects you want to work on, surround yourself with people you want to be surrounded by, and spend your time in ways you want to spend your time.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run a Denver based digital marketing agency called Indigo Labs that helps brands sell more products on their website or generate leads for their business.

What really sets my business apart is that my clients work directly with me. That is something I hear over and over again from the people I work with. They want one person who understands their business and handles everything end to end. Strategy, execution, day to day management, optimizations, and meetings. There is no handoff and no disconnect. When clients work with me, they know exactly who is responsible and they know their business is not being passed around internally.

I also bring a lot of real experience to the table. I have managed tens of millions of dollars in digital advertising across multiple platforms and industries. That experience matters because it gives me pattern recognition. I know what works, what does not, and where to focus effort to drive actual results instead of chasing shiny tactics.

Getting to this point was not easy and it definitely was not built on some huge personal network. I did not know anyone in the marketing space when I started. There were no referrals or shortcuts. I applied to roughly 3,000 jobs on LinkedIn and went through about 30 in person interviews before finally landing my first role. Once I was in, I started running my marketing agency on the side while working full time. A lot of it was trial and error. Some things worked, some things did not. I learned by doing.

Over time, through both mistakes and wins, I built enough confidence and consistency to go all in on my agency full time. The common thread through all of it was a willingness to do the work even when things felt uncertain or uncomfortable.

The biggest lesson I have learned is that there is no substitute for experience and consistency. You do not need a perfect background or a massive network to build something meaningful. You need to be willing to show up, learn fast, be honest with yourself and your clients, and keep improving. That mindset is what I want people to associate with me and my brand. Real experience, real effort, and real results.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to give them the best possible week, I would definitely start by getting them into the mountains. Even a simple drive through the foothills goes a long way if you are not used to seeing that kind of scenery. One place I almost always take friends and family is Garden of the Gods. It is close enough to Denver to be easy, but far enough away that it really feels like an experience. The views never get old, and it is great whether someone wants to hike or just walk around and take it all in.

After that, I would head back toward Golden for food and drinks. Golden is one of my favorite spots to bring visitors because you get great restaurants, good energy, and you are right up against the mountains. Sitting outside, enjoying the weather, and taking in the views is about as Colorado as it gets.

During the week, I would also try to catch something happening at a local park. Places like Washington Park or City Park usually have something going on, whether it is live music, people hanging out, or just a good vibe on a nice day. It is a great way to see how people actually live and spend time here.

To wrap things up, I would bring them back to my neighborhood, LoDo, for good food and a little nightlife. There are plenty of solid restaurants, bars, and places to hang out, and it gives visitors a real feel for the city side of Denver after spending time outdoors. It is a good balance of mountains, city life, and everything in between, which is honestly what makes Denver such a great place to live.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to my Mom! When I was a child she would continuously tell me that I am a leader and that I will accomplish great things even when I didn’t believe it yet myself.
