Meet Nicole Marine | Portrait, Wedding & Boudoir Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Marine and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what matters most to you?
It’s easy. I want to make everyone feel loved and seen in their own bodies. So many of my clients, especially with boudoir, tell me they’re not good in front of a camera. I believe everyone brings their own unique beauty and I’m honored to help them see that. It’s not about pointing a camera at them and posing them but making them feel beautiful while they are just enjoying life. I believe everyone should be able to cherish photos of themselves or an experience for the rest of their lives. One that sparks confidence or tells a story. In so many words, my values are being able to show people how special they are and how they fit into this world.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been a creative. I took my first film photography class in high school and fell in love with the magic of it all. I think what sets me apart is I know how awkward things can be, I am awkward! So I’m really good at getting people to relax. One of my proudest moments was at a wedding. I was taking pictures of the bride and groom and wanted to try something new. I told them to whisper in each other’s ears: Tell them why you’re here today. Tell them why you fell in love with them. Being able to capture a beautiful and raw moment and creating one for them felt really special.
I would want the world to know that I LOVE what I do. I don’t do it for the money or any shot at fame but because everyone deserves beautiful pictures.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the Rabbit Hole in the Springs! It’s Alive in Wonderland themed and the food is amazing. I’m also a big fam of the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Broadmoor Hotel. The animal lover in me will always want to see animals and the hotel has the perfect mix of Victorian and modern era. Of course, Garden of the Gods which is tiny Moab is a must see.
I love exploring and I’m lucky enough to live in a state where it’s easy to do and has great views wherever you go.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to take a moment to appreciate my mother, JoAnn. She dies when I was young and I wanted to help remember her name somehow. I played along with names for my business until BAM Portraits came along. It’s a way to honor her beauty, what she gave to the world, how she made an impact and capturing those happy moments. She was a beautiful, funny kind woman and her life is now stowed in pictures.
