We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikita Coulombe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikita, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my own business because I realized that making art is what I love doing most and life is short. Why not give my own dreams a shot? I’m not afraid of failure and rejection, but I didn’t gain the necessary confidence until I worked for other people and saw that no one really knows what they’re doing until they do it. I decided to just go for it and figure it out along the way. I have always worked hard and wanted to see what could happen if I put my energy, talent, and organizational skills into something that I was truly passionate about.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m most excited about having the opportunity to contribute positively to this world and I feel like I’ll be able to contribute the most through doing something that I love to do whether it’s directly or indirectly. Simply creating feels like a positive act.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When friends visit I like to take them to as many of the art galleries and museums that they can handle! Depending on the time of year I also suggest visiting Rocky Mountain National Park and take them hiking or skiing.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m grateful for so many things, from the platforms that allow artists to connect their work with the world to the people that have offered encouragement or bought a painting.
