We had the good fortune of connecting with Peter Champagnie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Peter, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most Important factor behind my success is having the discipline and drive to continue making music even if one of my songs dont do as good as the rest.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is I have a new sound. When I show people my music they cant tell me I sound like anybody they’ve heard before. I think that’s what excites me the most about pursuing my music career. Was it easy? NO. Not by a longshot, but that’s what makes it fun for me. All the struggles of making a song is such a delight. Throughout it all, I learned To be more patient and I learned that if I want it done the right way I got to it myself, and by myself. I want everyone in the world to know that it doesn’t matter where you come from or how hard your upbringing was there is always light at the end of the tunnel and you can always make a better life no matter the obstacle.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Defiantly downtown Colorado Springs. I would take them to this spot called coatis. then we can make our way down to the Gold room. For food I would take them a little down south to this black owned soul food spot, and last but not least ill take them to my fathers food truck, “Conrads’ Jamaican flavor” for some real authentic Jamaican Food.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well first, I want to shoutout God and both of my parents. They played a very important role in my life and me becoming the man I am today. As a kid, my inspiration came from a multitude of people. For Example, Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, Calvin Harris. with their POP style of music all the way to The Weekend, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J Cole on the Hip Hop side.
