We had the good fortune of connecting with Renee’ Suiter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renee’, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
That Reselling Thrifted Items couldn’t be a “Real Job” – Outsiders only see the “Shopping” part. I thrift for my inventory at local thrift and Resell Trade Stores. That’s the EASY PART. I have systems and process after I leave the thrift store. You have to clean, separate, take photo’s, list, ship, store and sell. Most resellers like myself work alone. We are a one person show. So staying organized with my process and systems is critical for sucess. I sell on line. Platforms like: Poshmark, Mercari, Depop and Ebay. I currently sell Live on Instagram.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other is my “Renee’ Way” – I have high energy and it shows in all that I do and say. I go big or I go home. I was born to Encourage people. I was born to Sell and can do it well. I have been told I care for others and want them to succeed. In the resellers community is known for the older resellers to mentor the newbie resellers. I do so by always giving tips and tricks to allow them to get on the fast track to a successful reselling business.

I am most proud of is that I took a love to thrift and used it to make money. I use to “have” to thrift to dress myself and my family many years ago. I have not been in that boat for decades but because of where I came from and a little entrepreneur spirit in me I build the love for thrifting into a money making business.

What excites me is that I am rescuing textile from the land fill and giving the items I thrift and sell a longer life span.

No. it was not. What start up business is? I over come challenges by what I call “Pivoting” If something is not working for me I pull out my business plan and adjust process and systems. For instance. Covid hit and I could no longer go thrifting. I have to pivot. I used other online platforms to purchase inventory. I asked friends and family members for clothing to sell.

Some lessons I have learned along the way is that my “Tool” box is full of tools that I did not know I had. One Example is Photography skills – I had no clue I have an eye to take photos. I can take a photo of a mean “Flatlay” Resellers term for laying clothing on the floor and making it look desirable.

I also learned that there are many resources online and in the community to build improve your skills and or to learn a new skill. I did not go to college. I am a a HS graduate with some learning disabilities that was not caught back in school. I have to work hard to over come some of them. Like typing this.

I want the world to know that My Name is Renee’ I am a 54 year old female that came from a non educated minority background but with a lot of determination and not quitting you too can do what you love and make money doing it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Oh, boy!

We would eat at the Maine Shack In Down Town Denver. The best Lobster Rolls in town!

We would drink at another favorite restaurant of mine that sells a mean Margarite. Don Juan’s in Littleton, CO

Visit Old Town Littleton. We would walk all the shops, eat lunch Smokin Fins

Hang out at Clements Lake in Littleton, ride bikes around the lake and eat frozen yogurt at Nella’s

Have to add thrifting at The Bins, it’s the goodwill outlet center where you buy clothing by the pound and go to the local goodwills and arc thrift stores. oh! and Clothes Mentor!!

For me old town Littleton has a old fashion charm. Reminds me of my small home town in Ruidoso, NM – Live slows down and I can relax when I am in Old Town Littleton.

Going up Idaho Springs to eat at Bejeuas is another activity I would take my guest to.

Down Town. The botanical Gardens. So relaxing.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shout out to my Husband. I worked for TJ for 10 + years building his dream. Three years ago he let me build my dream by Reselling Full time. He has supported me from day one and continues to do so. I have 2 rooms in our 5 bedroom house that is dedicated to my resell business that he helped me design. He also is my side kick on my IG Live Sales every Wednesdays “Wednesdays With Renee Shop & Sip” 6:15 mst – @FashionThrifter2018

My mom. She is not longer with me but by her example of doing things with out a education or training you can figure it out and teach yourself. I am successful because of my Mothers Example of a good work ethic.
