We had the good fortune of connecting with Rob Neuner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rob, what do you attribute your success to?
Trust. Trust that our product is what we say it is- 95% pure Oxygen. Trust that it will work where and when people use it. Trust in our messaging. Trust in doing what we say we’re going to do. Trust is very difficult to earn, and really easy to lose, and our constant daily mission both internally and externally is build trust amongst all of us.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Boost Oxygen- we manufacture (in house), distribute and sell Oxygen cans for personal, non-medical inhalation. We have been in business for the past 13 years, and have been the pioneer in the development, compliance and education of a brand new industry. 2 words for how we got here, and are overused by very true- patience and persistence. So many naysayers along the way, and still are, but through education and some terrific partners we have been able to grow steadily and markedly.
Definitely not easy, overcoming negative stigma and getting buyers to finally give us a chance has been a marathon.
Lessons learned- hire great people who can do great things. Mediocre people cost less, but do far more damage to growth. Never quit. Easier said than done- fortunate enough to have stayed financially conservative with growth and never had to bet the farm,
We’re a work in progress, and still overcoming challenges. When I explain that pure Oxygen is something normally given in hospitals, ambulances, by firemen, etc- people begin to understand. So much attention has been given to nutrition and hydration to augment people’s health, but no products address Respiration- which we do. Oxygen is the source of life for all living cells.
People at altitude have always realized our benefit, there is less Oxygen above 5,000 feet sea level. But even at sea level, there are so many uses to staying fully oxygenated- from sports to fitness to health to poor air quality to hangovers and other respiratory issues. Oxygen can and does help so many people- it’s inspiring.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m assuming you mean the Denver/Rockies area- and we have a house in Breck- so this is where it would be.
Best time ever- definitely ski all 5 peaks. Take them to Lost Cabin, hike up to Lake Chutes, and down Mine Shaft on Peak 9. Whales Tail a must. This would take a full 3 days to conquer all.
For meals, definitely Hearthstone and Briar Rose, but would make them go to Ember for eclectic goodness, South Ridge Seafood, Kenosha and the haunted Myla Rose south on Route 9. Would bring the dogs to Broken Compass Brewery (the one on Airport Road) and Rocky Mountain Underground for some apres. So many great places to go.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife Lynn and my kids Emily, Bobby and Kelly. Have supported me every single step of the way.
