We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Knoch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
How to know when to keep going or give up…. This is a perfect question for me at this time of my career. We recently decided to move on from my 20 year old business in Denver and move to Grand Junction to follow a dream. I have always wanted to live in a smaller town and have a floral boutique but still do weddings. The opportunity came and we took it.

So I went from doing very well and comfortable to starting all over again in unfamiliar territory. As I reflect on it some days, there are the I can’t do this, we aren’t going to make it moments. But one day at a time, I believe in myself and I know I can work hard to have this full dream come true.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I graduated art school and wanted to go into photography, it was a tough industry to start up in, in Denver. I worked a lot of side jobs as well and help with florals. I really liked it and wanted to see where it would take me. Of course it been hard to get started but once I found my niche and really got my name out there, things just took off.

I think the most important thing I have learned is self care. I had to learn to say no and take on what I was comfortable with. I had to give my self days off to be with family and friends

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a fun question now that I am in a newer location from where I grew up. First we would take a hike through the Colorado Monument. If we end it in Fruita, Hot Tomatoes is a great pizza spot. Downtown Grand Junction has a lot of great small restaurants so those would definitley be on the list. A trip to Paonia is always on the list. Its beautiful there. There are many farms and wineries to visit, and the views are amazing. Maybe an overnight in Telluride , but first stop would be little Switzerland, Ouray. I would end the trip with a bike ride through Palisade, a little wine tour.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My familiar deserves a lot of recognition. Whether its a bad day, long day, short handed, or just need company. They have all been there to step in
