We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Peck and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When Trifecta was started I wanted to change the way people think about Physical Therapy by offering tailored, one-on-one treatment of the whole person. Our clinic offers a full hour of hands on, high quality care to efficiently get patients back to the things they love as quickly as possible. There are no lines, no waiting rooms, no technicians, no insurance co-pays, no authorization requirements and no required referrals.. It is healthcare reimaged. I had worked in traditional PT clinics and wanted to be able to care for patients differently. Trifecta is committed to helping patients achieve their goals. Once they do, we will educate them on prevention against future injuries, providing tips and strategies to follow at home. This is customized care that you will not find anywhere else. Healthcare should be both helpful with your current issues but also preventive against future problems. Traditional healthcare mostly looks only to “fix” whatever issue is currently bothering a person and does not look for preventive measures. Trifecta strives to be different. We take time to listen and understand each patient while providing quality care and preventive measures.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Sarah graduated from Loma Linda University with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2008. Upon graduation Sarah joined the US Navy and served as a physical therapist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville and later at Naval Hospitals Camp Lejeune and Pensacola. After separating from the Navy, Sarah worked in several orthopedic and sport medicine clinics, making her area of expertise in orthopedics and sports rehab. She offers vast experience working with Marines, Special Force teams and high-level athletes. Today she fixes weekend warriors, amateur athletes, homemakers, and injured suburbanites. During the venture to start her own clinic Sarah found a niche of patients who were drastically underserved in the physical therapy world. Patients with TMD/TMJ issues were not being referred to physical therapy due to the lack of PT’s who treat this issue. Sarah started to take extra training and began treating these patients to give them the relief which was much needed. Dentist and other practitioners were relieved to find someone who treated this in the South Denver Metro. Today about half of Sarah’s case load is facial pain and TMD/TMJ patients. She has patients who travel from Colorado Springs, Fort Collins and everywhere in between to get relief from their pain.
Starting a new clinic is never easy especially when Trifecta was opened 6 months before the pandemic hit. But Sarah and the other practitioners at Trifecta were able to get through the tuff times and continue to grow each month. The learning curve when opening your own business is vast and at times seems impossible but if you have a great team to work with and take each small steps at a time, tackling tasks as they come up it will get done. Also there are people who have started similar things before and as a new business you should try to learn from them. Sarah has listened to hours of podcasts, read articles and spoken with others who started a cash based physical therapy clinic to avoid making the mistakes they made. There is lots of information today available for free and you need to take the time to learn from others to make your journey a little easier as starting a business has so many facets.
Together at Trifecta we have over 40 years of physical therapy experience, with numerous specializations and certifications, and have worked in many different settings. We have taken the best ideas from each experience and know what works for patients and what does not. Our goal is to create an experience at each visit that is effective for your needs, catered to you as an individual, and empowers you to do what you love.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband Steve has been my biggest encouragement to starting Trifecta. He has helped in many ways behind the scenes from designing our website, to filming and editing our YouTube channel, helping to paint and move furniture. He is also always pushing me to get out of comfort zones and market in new ways for the business. He had the idea of starting a small boutique physical therapy clinic years ago and it took me about 10 years to come around to the idea! So without Steve Trifecta would not exist.
