Meet Shelby McIntosh | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shelby McIntosh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shelby, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Munster Bunny Art formed from a chalk drawing on the park tarmac. Art has always been a part of my life, it gave me so much perspective that I felt the need to begin sharing those views as an adult. Pursuing other fields has always been interesting but I cannot go more than a couple of days without creating and that was a sign from the start that art is my industry. It is always challenging your longevity, offering means of expression, and connecting you with others and I love everything about it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Munster Bunny Art officially became my brand in 2018 when I moved to Austin, Texas and began my art career. This brand depicts a rabbit wearing a horned skull, this represents appreciating all perspectives in life and death. The beautiful and diverse city of Austin brought many art opportunities and collaborations that really helped me find my footing in the art world. My art career started with networking at a small table in glass shops and markets and led me to begin an art tour around the U.S., write a comic to be self published, and pursue my dreams. The art industry is a trying field, working for yourself is as fulfilling as it is exhausting and takes true commitment. The most important lesson it has taught me is that I can’t do anything I don’t love, it has shifted my priorities and my lifestyle for the better.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In Denver, Colorado there are so many things to see. Convergence Station at Meow Wolf is a visually stunning interactive experience everyone should see. RiNo Art District has some really fun galleries and close by is one of my favorite Japanese themed arcade bars, Ahikabara.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to my amazingly supportive sister as well as artists and friends that have shown me new paths for my career and style and brought me through many milestones.
