Meet Sheryl Crawford

Today we’re excited to be connecting with Sheryl Crawford again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Sheryl, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Sheryl! I run a small creative business, Currently still Sheryl Crawford Photography but it’s evolved from only providing digital and analog photography and creative direction to now incorporating mini films and digital content design for clients. So I’m currently in the process of a rebrand and new name that I’m very excited about! I feel very passionate towards my work and don’t take for granted the opportunities to work with people and bring a vision to life or capture a moment in time.

Great, so let’s jump into an update on what you have been up to since we last spoke. What can you share with us?
Since my last interview there’s been some fun projects, my partner and I have been building a studio space (yes just us two, so I can now hang drywall and have learned a few things on building since we last spoke) the studio is about done. Having my own space to create and work in will be so refreshing and fun. I’ve also opened my books to weddings the last few years and that’s been such a special experience capturing love. I do consider myself an exclusive or intentional wedding photographer because I don’t plan on ever loading up my year with weddings, I want to make sure I am energetically compatible with my clients and it be the best fit while also working on other projects throughout the year. As for my rebranding that’s currently in the works, I’ve been working with a friend and local tattoo artist, Austin (IG: dumpsterdogtattooclub) on designing some new logos and a fun new name that will be announced soon on my social media pages and website. Something else I’m looking forward to, is putting together a fundraiser art show in the near future as a way to give back and help others. The world feels chaotic right now, and in times like these, creation and community becomes essential. Art isn’t just an outlet—it’s a form of survival for some, a way to process, release, and communicate what words often cannot. Through creating, we carve meaning out of the madness and give shape to emotions that demand to be felt. I am so grateful that I can create and chase my dreams and build community through it all. I wouldn’t be where I am without the ones saying my name in rooms I’m not in and supporting me along my path. For anyone chasing their dreams, the imposter syndrome, the creative blocks they all have meaning to push you further into self and finding ways to redirect your energy is the great balancing act of life and art so keep at it!
