We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Ownbey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years. Investment banking, finance, beauty, real estate. But at the core, I’ve always known I wanted to work for myself. Starting my own business in real estate gave me the creative freedom to build something that truly reflects who I am and how I want to serve others. Yes, I’m backed by a brokerage, but I get to choose who I work with and how I show up every day. I’ve bought and sold my own homes and saw firsthand how many agents skip over the education piece or sugarcoat the process. I’m here to change that. I want my clients to feel confident and informed, not confused and overwhelmed. At the end of the day, helping people navigate a major life decision while still being present for my own family is what drives me. My kids are in 5th and 6th grade and I want them to see that building something meaningful is possible with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of honesty.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is all about helping people make informed decisions when it comes to buying or selling a home. I don’t just open doors and write contracts. I take the time to explain the process, dig into the details, and make sure my clients understand what’s really going on behind the scenes. I’m not afraid to say when I don’t know something, but you can bet I’ll find the answer fast. My brand is built on honesty, hard work, and a whole lot of heart. I’m proud of the way I show up for people. I bring a calm, steady energy to what can be a stressful experience, but I also like to keep things light and fun when I can.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve had to juggle family life, push through self-doubt, and stay focused when things felt uncertain. But every challenge has taught me something, and I’ve learned that showing up consistently and staying true to who I am makes all the difference. I want people to know that I’m not here to sell them something. I’m here to guide them through a major life move with transparency, care, and a little bit of hustle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, we’d kick things off by heading straight for the mountains. Breckenridge is one of my favorite places to explore. We’d hike one of the scenic trails, grab coffee at a local spot, then spend the afternoon wandering through town, popping into shops and catching up. Dinner would be somewhere cozy with a great view and good conversation.

Back in the Denver area, we’d mix it up with some city fun. A day exploring RiNo for the street art and creative energy, then maybe Red Rocks for a concert or a morning yoga session. We’d spend a slow morning in Wash Park walking and talking, then find a spot for a laid-back brunch. The rest of the week would be a mix of good food, mountain air, belly laughs, and just soaking up everything that makes Colorado feel like home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my husband. He has supported me every step of the way, both emotionally and financially, and never hesitates to jump in when things get hectic. From cheering me on during the tough moments to handling all the behind the scenes chaos that comes with two busy kids, he’s been the steady force that helps me keep moving forward. I truly couldn’t do this without him.
