We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacy Cason and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The hemp industry was growing and booming in 2018 when I started this company, and people were starting to learn of the healing benefits from the plant. I like to view from a 30,000-ft-view as a whole system, and saw the major bottleneck was in  extraction and processing. The conventional processing methods were concerning to me as a medical professional, so we set out to create a healthier and more natural alternative. This led down a very long path of research and development to bring a new technology to fruition by pioneering water extraction. Later on, as we sought to formulate our line of end-consumer products from this natural water-extracted CBDa, we found another hurdle in the lack of quality standards in other kitchens and processors, which led us to bring it all in-house. Now our entire process and kitchen is certified USDA-organic, from the plant to the final labeled product. Staying in touch with the current needs and challenges has led to pivots to continually improve our company and keep us at the forefront of an evolving industry.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Using cutting-edge science, we have raised the bar on quality to optimize your wellness. Planetarie has the most natural, healthy, and potent way to extract cannabinoids from hemp plants, using water instead of harmful chemicals, high pressure or heat. All of this is achieved with a certified USDA-organic process and facility. CBDa is the acidic precursor to CBD and the way it is actually grown in the cannabis/hemp plants, which was hard to obtain. We made it easy. It’s the art of combining science and nature to create human well-being. In addition to our award winning retail line of topicals and ingestibles, we also offer private-labeling and co-branding opportunities.

My career path has been anything but traditional! I was an ICU RN, anesthesiologist, commercial real estate developer, serial entrepreneur, and hemp innovator all before age 40.
Was it easy? No. I have learned to spend energy only on things that matter, stay grounded, make the necessary pivots to keep the business relevant.

I want the world to know that we make the effort to do things with the highest integrity, using innovative science in a simple and effective manner that is best for plant, for people, and for planet.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oooh fun! We would have breakfast at Devils Food on Gaylord, drinks at Cooper Lounge and Machete in Cherry Creek. Fave dining spots: Barolo Grill, LaLoma, North, True Foods, and Izakaya Den Catch a show at Red Rocks. One day we would drive up to Devil’s Thumb Ranch for a horseback ride and a massage, then a homegrown steak at their Ranch House Restaurant. We would enjoy hiking and cycling along the front range, especially in Evergreen.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My incredible and amazing team at Planetarie: Ethan, Mandy, Danielle, Erin I absolutely could not and would not do this without y’all!
