We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Castellanos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I am from the smallest state in the U.S , Rhode Island . My parents immigrated from Guatemala in the 80s / 90s and decided to call this small state home . Since I can remember my mom has always taken videos or photography of me and my siblings growing up . Younger me hated all the posing and flashes But, now that I am older I’ve taken what my mom has done all 22 years of my life, into a hobby of taking photographs of nature which I love ! I also love traveling and wish I could travel to so many more places in the future so that I can take even more neat photographs .
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I love photographing whenever I’m out and about in nature or traveling . When I’m not photographing I am working or Vlogging . I work at a dispensary as a Budtender additionally I Vlog on my YouTube channel, LoudVibez, about cannabis . Before becoming a Budtender I worked in the food industry which took a toll on my mental health and body . Since I’ve left the food industry I’ve learned that Investing your money is so important ! Not only for your retirement but for the present as well . I also learned that there are many ways to making money and being your own boss which is my goal ! I hope to one day have my own successful cannabis business and be able to travel and take photographs of more nature .
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m from Rhode Island so I would say take them to Newport or Block island during the summer for some Seafood or show them some good food spots in downtown Providence.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to shout out Sailaway inc. Aka Lynne D. She was a mentor in high school who I looked up to for guidance in photography. I about shutter speed, lighting and other settings useful for good quality photography, although I use my phone camera it definitely helps they way I look through my lens .
