We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephen Pamas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephen, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Consistency. There are so many steps to be taken and many of them seem small. A lot of times it feels as though you need to take them all at once but the key is to stay consistent. Many small steps turn into miles before you know it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a musician and front man of the band Hello, Mountain. We have released 4 albums since 2016 while still maintaining full time careers. It’s not easy, but we always stay focused on staying positive and taking more steps forward than backwards. At this point releasing music has almost become second nature to us, which can cause creativity complacency. In order to get out of that we challenge ourselves with new instruments and are always pushing for new ways to express the songs.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the music scene in Denver so I would probably try to take them to small show at the hi-dive at some point. The only food spot I would need to take them to is Zorba’s in Congress Park. We’d walk from my house for breakfast and relive the many mornings spent there in the past few years. I’d also have to take them to Red Rocks. More than likely during the day when you can walk around and explore a bit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Close friends deserve the shoutout more than anything. Without them I would have stopped playing music a long time ago..
