We had the good fortune of connecting with Suli Zuniga and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suli, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite scripture verse is Proverbs 16:3 “Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” When I put God in charge of my work and any plans, what I’ve planned will take place or even better, my plans will be rerouted to something better than I planned because God has my best interests at heart!

What should our readers know about your business?
16:3 Cake Studio is named after Proverbs 16:3 “commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.” After finally deciding to trust God, have courage and pursue my dream to use my God given talents to serve my community and spreading a little happiness. Our specialty is always serving with a spirit of excellence. From the ordering process, customer service, decorating etc. every detail is done with a spirit of excellence. By that we mean execute everything with the utmost care and love as if we were doing it for our loved ones.

One of many lessons we have learned is we need community. We were not meant to do life alone, let alone business. Entrepreneurship is a journey of many ups and downs. We believe in serving before selling anything. My reasons to keep going on this entrepreneur journey is my two children, family and God, who gives me the strength, courage and guidance to keep going so I can show my children that with God all things are possible. I faced many hardships in my personal life from homelessness, domestic violence and at one point being a single mother. I also hope to motivate and inspire other women to walk in their purpose and place their dreams/actions in the Lord and your plans will succeed just as mine are coming to fruition before my eyes!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am still quite new to Colorado myself lol so I only know a bit. I would definitely take them hiking to Chautauqua Park. I would take them to the Denver botanic gardens and Estes Park. I would definitely take them to Nok’s Donuts in Lafayette. They have the best made from scratch all-natural ingredient donuts along with the best Thai tea coffee!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
16:3 Cake Studio’s success and where I am in life is first and foremost thanks to God. Without Him, I can’t imagine where I’d be.
