We had the good fortune of connecting with Suzanne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Suzanne, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
I decided to ask myself a simple question: WHY NOT ME?
I’ve had many business ideas over the years, and this question crystalized for me when one of those ideas had come to reality…through someone else. Someone else had the audacity to bet on themselves and made it happen. I don’t know anything about what made them do it, but it made me ask the question, “Why not me?”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started the concept for this company out of my need to support someone close to me with their own alcohol issue. After trying and failing to “fix” someone else, it became clear that the only thing I could control was myself, and a deep level of internal work needed to be done with my own relationship to alcohol.

After unsuccessfully searching for a sobriety support tool that felt right for me, I decided to create one. This project is informed by my own experiences, including losing my father to alcoholic liver disease when I was 18 years old. The perspective of the project is specifically for alcohol, but it could apply to most any habit you wish to change.

The Curious Card Company package combines a guided journal and reflection card deck to help you explore your relationship with alcohol with curiosity, not judgment. Through mindful journaling, motivational affirmations, and actionable prompts, you’ll gain clarity, set healthier boundaries, and create space for lasting change.

The content of the cards came very easily to me; the “affirmantras” and the journal prompts were swimming around in my head for decades. Collecting them all into one place in a thoughtful, organized manner helped me to set standards for what I wanted my life to look like, and provided a path on how to get there.

Through my workshops, I provide support to those who are looking to gain control of most any habit, and I love to watch the transformations as they realize that it is themselves who are the most powerful influence on their own lives.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start the day with a late breakfast at Lucille’s Creole Cafe in Longmont, followed by a yoga class at Full Circle Yoga. We would stop by Bella la Crema Butter Bar, and sample over 20 artisan butter flavors.

Then we would grab our swimsuits and head up to Ft. Collins to Aquis Wellness Arts for the floating sound bath. This experience is a meditation session while floating (blindfolded if you like!) in a warm pool space, featuring a sound artist playing gongs, drums, crystal bowls, and other instruments. It feels like floating in space, and we would emerge calm and renewed.

Dinner would be at Black Cat Farm in Longmont, which is a true farm to table dining experience. The food is grown and raised right on the farm. The menu is seasonal and curated to your tastes, and the reservation is timed to coincide perfectly with the sunset that is viewed from your own personal dining greenhouse. The whole experience is absolutely stunning.
