We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanisha Lawrence and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was, creating a career for myself. I was ready to implement all of the skills I learned from previous jobs and test my diligence. I knew consistency would be key and there will be challenges. My thought process was, the harder I work the more opportunities will come my way. I drilled in my mind, I know im not the first nail polish line and it’ll never be the only, but there will be a connection customers will feel with my brand that will make it different.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
LAW Beauty Essentials was created after I made a choice to put faith in myself. I always trust my decisions, doesn’t mean I don’t go back and forth on them, I only wonder am I missing any key information that would have changed my decision. I made the choice to target the nail industry. I felt connected to my nails and interested so I knew I was ready to explore nail polish deeper than just painting my nails at home. Our mission to create a lifestyle sets us apart from others. We want you to feel good about your nail and comfortable with ingredients used in the formula.
Its been 8 years and we are still evolving. It was not a easy journey but there hasn’t been a obstacle we were able to over come and learn from.
I learned to make changes when see fit and not be ashamed to do so. My brand was rebranded and I delayed in doing so hoping not to loose my identity. That delay only cost me in the long run.
I want people to know although we are a small brand we are worthy. We are making an impact in our community and a staple. educating people along the way but also learning from you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Lets start at Tupelo Honey for breakfast! Then we can head over to a museum the self museum if still open!
Then we can go to a park for fresh air and nature.
Maybe treat our selves to a nice dinner at Prime 🙂

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To my friends and family that support all wins I share, big or small. To the people who support and encourage me to keep going. Social media has been a platform to truly socialize for me. Sometimes people get anti-social and no one is talking, tagging one another in meaningful post, engaging in content, but I have more than a handful that answer my surveys, likes my photos, repost me and share my brand with others. They keep me away from imposter syndrome because they view me in a light that I cant help but to step into.
