Meet Tim Meyer | Photographer & Videographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Meyer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I meet weekly with a close friend, who is also a business owner, and we communicate what we accomplished the week before, what we didn’t accomplish, and what our goals are for the following week. We also list our long-term goals, and try to have our weekly goals inch closer towards those. It’s great for creating some accountability, especially for the things that are less fun, like accounting or managing my website. I always want to be out shooting, so that helps me stay focused.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I love about my work is that it’s diverse. One day I could be doing portrait photography, and the next, I could film an advertisement for a business, and it shows in my portfolio. That keeps things fun and engaging for me. I get the most artistic gratification by working with others, understanding their vision, and bringing it to life. To understand and help express someone else’s artistic style is a blast for me. Because of that, much of my professional development revolves around researching new trends and artistic styles and becoming skilled in them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’d definitely have to catch a show at Red Rocks Amphitheater, but that’s a given. Next, a scenic hike at Mayflower Gulch, my favorite hike reasonably close to Denver. We’d explore 16th street and LoDo, maybe see a show at the Marquis Theatre. We’d see the Denver Art Museum, Wings Over the Rockies, then probably cap it off at a Broncos game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So many people have helped me a lot on the way, but Victor Sanchez at imADgine Studios has been a cornerstone in my success. On top of teaching me about photography and video, Victor has also taught me so much about business, life, work ethic, finance, accounting, and relationship-building. He’s a great person that has done a lot for me.
