Meet Travis Dolan | Full Stack Music Engineer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Travis Dolan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Travis, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, I started my business because I was tired of seeing incredible music sit unfinished—trapped on hard drives, just shy of the finish line. I’ve been there too, stuck in that same loop of frustration. I wanted to bridge that gap—to help artists take the spark they’ve lit and shape it into something polished, powerful, and ready to be heard. But more than that, I wanted to make the process feel human. Too often, artists just drop off a track and say, “Make it sound good.” But sounding good and feeling good are two completely different things. People don’t connect with what they can’t feel. So I built my business around connection—around real conversations, frequent check-ins, and a relationship rooted in trust, not transactions. I wanted to be the person artists turn to not just for a final polish, but for guidance, clarity, and collaboration. Because great music deserves to be heard—and the artist deserves to feel seen.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art lives where technical precision meets emotional resonance. I don’t just make tracks sound loud and clean—I make them feel alive. I work across multiple genres, but I’ve carved out a space in ambient, downtempo, recoil/metal, and sound healing music where every detail matters. What sets me apart is my focus on dynamic range and emotional storytelling, crafting mixes and masters that breathe, surprise, and connect. I’m most proud of helping artists finish music that feels just as good to release as it did to create. And honestly, I’m most excited about what’s next—every project feels like an invitation to push boundaries. I got here with a lot of dedication, a push from friends, and by asking my mentors, and anyone willing to share, the right questions. I asked a ton of them. Some parts of the journey felt smooth, but the harder parts were usually challenges I put on myself. Once I learned to get out of my own way, everything started opening up. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that there’s no success without failure, you’ve got to be okay with falling on your face sometimes. Not everyone will agree with you, and not every artist will be the right fit. The trick is learning from each experience and staying true to the work that matters most. My brand is about showing that you don’t need a massive budget or a big-name studio to create something incredible. Even the so-called little guys can have big wins. Level 32 Studio exists to bridge that gap—making high-quality, release-ready music accessible without sacrificing depth or emotion. If I can do it, almost anyone can, but it takes dedication, sacrifice, and a relentless commitment to the craft.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’d start close to home with my favorite Indian spot, The Spice Room…it’s too good not to share. But since I love cooking, I’d definitely make them a home-cooked meal one night too. We’d take a trip up to the mountains for a hike around Clear Creek, then catch a show at Red Rocks. Another day, we’d hit Meow Wolf for a full-on sensory overload, then wrap it up with another killer show at Mission Ballroom. That’s the Denver experience-good food, the mountains, and music everywhere.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First off, we wouldn’t be having this conversation if it weren’t for S1gns of L1fe (Chris Bryant)—he pulled me back into music theory, which led me to sound design, which then led mixing, and finally mastering. Next would be Jordan Valeriote, thank you for teaching me how to capture sound the right way, from mic technique to mixing with intention. That foundation changed everything. Up next is Mastering.com, their mentorship, structure, and community helped me refine my ears, develop my listening space, sharpen my process, and trust myself more in the work. Frank Fable who’s been a steady creative partner through the highs and lows. Grateful for the grind and the growth. To Florasynth, thank you for your wisdom and beautiful music. To Galexica and Evenaris, your healing sounds met me right when I needed them and shaped how I listen and approach music. Vissia and Pineapple AD, thank you for being friends first, and artists who have trusted me with your vision. And finally, to my friends and family for holding it down through it all. Your belief kept me rooted so the dream could grow.
