We had the good fortune of connecting with Vanessa Picone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vanessa, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was about answering a deeper call—to combine everything I’ve learned professionally and personally into something meaningful. With a background in interior design and years of experience in leadership roles, I always felt drawn to creating spaces that didn’t just look good but felt good. Over time, my own healing journey led me to explore practices like chakra healing, Reiki, somatic movement, and breathwork.

I began to see how our physical environment and our inner energy are deeply connected. A cluttered or misaligned home can reflect emotional blocks, while a clear and intentional space can support transformation and healing. That insight sparked the creation of Wheels of Life—a business where I blend spiritual wellness with intentional interior design to help people heal their mind, body, and home.

I didn’t want to compartmentalize my passions anymore. I wanted to create something holistic, heart-centered, and empowering—something that helps people reconnect with themselves and their space on a soul level.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Wheels of Life, is a sacred space for holistic healing and spiritual transformation. I guide people through practices like Reiki, Chakra Healing, Somatic Movement, Intuitive Breathwork, Past Life Regression, and spiritual interior design to help them reconnect with their inner wisdom and create harmony in their lives and homes.

What sets me apart is the way I bridge the practical and the spiritual. With a background in interior design and deep training in energy healing modalities, I help people not just heal emotionally or energetically—but also create physical environments that support that healing. I truly believe our outer space reflects our inner space, and when both are aligned, transformation becomes possible on every level.

Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. I left behind the stability of a leadership career to follow an inner calling that didn’t always make sense on paper. There was fear, imposter syndrome, and a whole lot of trial and error. But every time I connected with a client and saw them experience a real shift—whether releasing trauma, gaining clarity, or feeling truly at home in their body or space—I knew I was on the right path.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You just need to trust your vision, take one aligned step at a time, and be willing to grow through the discomfort. I’ve also learned that rest, embodiment, and joy are part of the work—not things to earn only after we’ve achieved success.

What I want the world to know is that healing doesn’t have to be rigid or clinical. It can be creative, intuitive, and deeply personal. At Wheels of Life, my goal is to create spaces—both physical and energetic—where people feel safe to heal, remember who they are, and realign with their soul’s path.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Denver for a week, I’d plan a mix of nature, good food, soulful experiences, and a few hidden gems that make this area so special.

We’d definitely start with a show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre—it’s iconic for a reason. Whether it’s a sunrise yoga class or an evening concert, there’s something magical about being surrounded by those red sandstone formations with music echoing through the canyon.

During the day, we’d explore Denver Botanic Gardens—it’s a peaceful, beautiful space to wander, take photos, and connect with nature. We might stop at Wash Park afterward for a picnic or rent bikes and ride along the Cherry Creek Trail.

One afternoon, we’d go treasure hunting at South Broadway’s vintage shops, grab matcha or a turmeric latte at Hudson Hill, and maybe catch a secret house show or underground jazz set—Denver has an amazing community of musicians that pop up in unexpected places.

For meals, I’d take them to Carmine’s Italian Deli in Lakewood—a total hidden gem with the best Italian sandwiches and pasta dishes that feel like a warm hug. We’d also hit La Chiva for Colombian food or Cuba Cuba for dinner.

Evenings would be spent catching a local art opening, soaking in the views from a rooftop bar like El Five, or just cozying up with a glass of wine and a deep conversation under the stars.

And somewhere in there, we’d make time for a little mountain escape—maybe a day trip to Evergreen Lake or a soak in Indian Hot Springs to round out the week with a dose of Rocky Mountain soul.

Denver has such a special energy—creative, grounded, and full of surprises. It’s one of those places where you can find yourself dancing under the stars one night and hiking through wildflowers the next. That’s the kind of magic I’d want to share.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely—so much of my path has been shaped by the incredible people and teachers who’ve poured into me along the way. First, I have to thank my partner, Jason, for his constant belief in me and willingness to dream big right alongside me. His love, groundedness, and adventurous spirit have given me the courage to take leaps I might not have taken on my own.

I also want to recognize my dear friend Nancy O’Sullivan, who has always seen my potential—even in moments when I doubted it. Her encouragement helped spark the idea that I could really build something of my own.

And finally, to the communities I’ve been a part of—whether in yoga training, Reiki circles, or entrepreneurship groups—thank you for reminding me that healing and growth don’t happen in isolation. We rise together.
