We had the good fortune of connecting with Vee Weir and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vee, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success and my brand is the fact that I knew it was going to take years to build a base. Social media and press features make it seem like everyone is an overnight success, when that simply isn’t the case. I began my personal brand in 2016, opened my business in 2019 and began being nationally recognized in 2020. It’s been a long road of planting seeds and patiently waiting to harvest them.

Going in with the long-term path in mind is essential if you want to succeed in the online space. I’ve been successful because I build relationships first and took the time to learn my audience by going through their challenges and their struggles myself.

Doing that has made me stand out and has made my business flourish.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Weir Digital Marketing is an online marketing firm focused in the personal finance industry. We help content creators strategically plan out their messaging and aesthetic, while also educating their audiences on how to better manage their money and wealth building goals. We work with award-winning podcasters, YouTubers, influencers and bloggers from every corner of the personal finance space, from real estate investors to the debt free community and FI/RE (financial independence, retire early) enthusiasts.

The best part about Weir Digital Marketing is it’s roots. It was born from my personal brand, Vee Frugal Fox, an Instagram page dedicated to educating people about personal finance and documenting my personal financial independence journey. Before I opened WDM, I built relationships with all of our clients. Not only do I have a background, personally, in finance, but I have a degree in Communication Studies from UNC-CH. Marrying these two things really makes us stand out.

Building this business was hardly easy. There were (and still are) many ups and downs, but that’s being an entrepreneur in general. I’ve learned that if you are authentic and genuinely care about your clients, the perfect clients will find you. I’ve never spent a dime in marketing my company — and I think that speaks volumes about who we are and the level of service we offer.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Friday PM: Longmont: First, we’d go to Jefes for street tacos and margs
Then, we’d walk around downtown and visit Crystal Joys, Zen Babe + Barbed Wire Books and get ice cream at Sweet Cow

Saturday AM: Longmont + Estes Park
We’d get breakfast at Goodfellas
Stop at Mountain Fountain for hiking snacks
Drive up to Estes Park, and feed the chipmunks
Hike in RMNP (probably the 3 lakes)
Visit The Stanley for a tour + drink
Drive back down to Longmont
Have dinner at 300 Suns Brewing

Sunday: Denver
Stop at Stuebens in Denver for before taking them to the airport back home!
If we had time, we’d stop at the Denver Selfie Museum

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would not be where I am today without my business partner, Kayli Johnson. Throughout my career she has been an anchor and a supportive, but no-BS friend. When she joined Weir Digital Marketing, I had no idea what to expect, but the level of dedication, passion and love she brings consistently blows me away. Kayli is the keystone of my personal brand, our business and my personal life. I literally couldn’t do what I do every day without her. And the personal finance industry would suffer without her creative genius. Thank you for everything, Kayli. You are my best friend and the best partner I could ever ask for.
