We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Favor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Never underestimate the value that you add to this world.” It reminds me that there is only one of me, but to always remember we are all connected. Every bit of good you can offer, makes a difference in the universe.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I moved to CB at the most perfect timing for my professional career. Lucky for sure. The two long term nail technicians in town were both leaving the valley, and here I stepped in to pick up where they left off. In any other city, you’re competing with hundreds of other nail technicians and nail salons, here I was able to obtain a major holding in the nail market. That has allowed me to create a successful nail career at my own pace, in my own time. I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to make peoples days better, and at the same time being able to let my creativity flow. It wasn’t easy moving to a ski town, not knowing how to ski. People were a little confused at first as to why I moved here at all. But I have always felt that there is room for style, color, fashion and art in any community. Even if it is just a fun color on a nail.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Most of my visitors aren’t really into the extreme sports that CB has to offer. They’re here to relax, and take in the sights. I love taking people on drives and then a picnic- up to Gothic or Taylor Reservoir are my go tos. Cocktails at Montanyas is always a must, happy hour at Bonez, or dinner at Sherpa. I would definitely check the Center for the Arts schedule of events-they have the coolest happenings in town. For a mellow evening, a movie at the Majestic Theater (when we get it reopened) is the best!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The endless support of the community that is Crested Butte.
