We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Seibel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Zach, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Myself, my brother and my dad had been talking about starting a business together for years, it was just a matter of timing and figuring out the best way to make it work for each of us. In 2016 I was working as a real estate agent for MODUS real estate, my brother Cole was a licensed general contractor with another company and my dad Jim was running a custom home building company in Colorado Springs. In late 2016, the three of us decided it was time to team up and create our own construction company called Seibel Construction.
What should our readers know about your business?
After starting the company in 2017 we slowly started to expand. We now have 11 employees on our payroll and in the Fall of 2019 we got an office/warehouse in Lakewood. Our scope of work has also expanded. Our first couple of projects were simple fix and flips and remodels that we self-performed. Now we are building ground up single family homes and multi units homes. One of our larger current projects is a brand new 12 unit complex we’re building in Downtown Littleton. Those will hit the market in early 2021. We do commercial work as well. We’ve built some work out studios, offices and several others. Aside from the day to day challenges of operating and contuing to grow a business like ours, it’s dealing with the unique challenges that construction presents. Each project is different and they all come with challenges that require creative solutions. I think that’s where we shine and where we stand out from the competition. Regardless of the type of project, we take pride in the fact that not only can we come up with timely solutions that benefit all parties, we come up with creative solutions that the typical contractor doesn’t think of. We also make sure that each project is completed on time, on or below budget and our clients are truly satisfied with the result.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ah man, that’s a tough one. Denver is booming right now and it seems like there’s new stuff popping up everyday! In my opinion, the number one thing on your Denver bucket list should be catching a concert at Red Rocks. When it comes to nightlife I personally spend a lot of time in either RiNo, LoHi or Cherry Creek. All areas are loaded with great restaurants, fun bars and provide a great atmosphere. I’m big on Italian food, some of my favorite spots are Tavernetta, Gaetano’s and Quality Italian. I highly recommend the chicken parmesan pizza at Quality Italian. It’s incredible and you will have leftovers for days! To burn off some of those calories I like to go for a run around Wash Park or Sloans Lake.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It’s safe to say that we would be nowhere without the support of our friends, family and the Denver community as a whole. When we first started this venture we weren’t entirely sure where it was going to go and where it might lead to. From day one our network and the Denver community supported us and our vision. A good majority of our business and projects have come in the form of referrals. There’s no doubt that a lot of our success has to do with the people around us.
