Our Linked Prosperity: how local businesses are helping their communities


Most of the media often paints all businesses with a single stroke, but in our experience businesses are each unique and so many of them are focused on making the world a better place. We’ve highlighted a few such gems below.

The mission of empowerHER is to empower, support, and connect young children and adults who have experienced the loss of a parent. Through empowerHER we are able to provide in-person events that remind them they are not alone in their grief. Read more>>

I used to ask myself: Is what I’m doing actually making a difference? Am I really using my existence to create something positive in the world? It’s just pictures, that I’m taking because I think are pretty, and then I share them – holding my breath that they get enough attention to give my ego a pat on the back and encourage me to keep going. Grand Rivers Humane Society was formed in 2005 in Grand Junction Colorado by Dr. Joseph Maruca to find loving homes for Mesa County homeless pets. He wanted to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs at the Mesa County Animal Services shelter. Read more>>

Our mission is to help animals in need, specifically dogs living in rescue shelters. In an effort to do so, we donate 20% of profits to underfunded rescue shelters. Most shelters rely on volunteers and donations to survive. We believe that with enough help, a difference can be made in the overall well-being of each animal living in a shelter. Read more>>
