We asked some of the city’s rising stars to reflect on what made a difference in their journey. We asked them to tell us about what they think the most important factor has been behind their success.

Christine Stadnik | Artist

As I began Awake the Soul Art as a young artist in high school, I struggled finding my unique voice in the pieces I did. I accepted commissions to help explore different mediums and enjoyed the challenges of these tasks. In taking more time to paint for myself, I have found beauty in the differences amongst my pieces. I really believe that the most important factor behind the success of MEG Productions is the intention behind the company rather than what the company does. Amanda Ament | Food entrepreneur

The most important factor behind our success is the positive impact we bring to people’s everyday lives. We are solving a problem that I was facing when I first quit sugar a few years ago: the food industry is packed with sugar, and it can be difficult to find healthy alternatives. Especially for the diabetic community and those with Hashimoto’s disease who are limited in their snack options. Read more>>

One of the most important factors behind any successful business in my opinion is good communication. Response time is also important in my eyes. Haley Shreves | Photographer

The most important factor behind my success so far has been my love for photography. The satisfaction I get when I am able to freeze some of the most meaningful moments in a person’s life is what drives me to run a successful business. Ally Nyman | Licensed Massage Therapist & Owner

The most important factor would be the unique experience I was able to gain prior to creating my own success. I had the opportunity to work in the elite sports world, where I was surrounded by the best, learned from some of the best and was able to put my work to the ultimate test. This experience humbled me, helped me grow, and gave me a perspective that I believe now is the most important factor to my success. Read more>>
