What are you inspired by?

One of our favorite things to do is to ask the folks we are inspired by what they are inspired by. We’ve shared some of their responses below.

Nature and intimate moments are what inspire me the most. Seeing the warmth and love between a couple who are completely enamored with each other is amazing. When they look at each other but I mean truly look at each other and just see the connection they have with one another is pretty awesome. Other intimate moments like a mom embracing her child and her child not only hugging their mom back but giving a little squeeze and closing their eyes like they don’t ever want to let go. I’ve always been into music for as far back as I can remember. I knew that I wanted to be a musician really young. My cousin Andrew was a drummer in a band back home in Indiana so I remember wanting to be a drummer first just from watching him play. When he used to babysit me, he would sometimes let me play around on his drums and pretend like I knew what i was doing. He even gave me my first drum sticks that I would later use to learn on books and pillows that I strategically set up on my bed like a makeshift kit. Read More>>

When I consider what inspires me I am struck by the enormity of the Earth and the profound connections between individuals and the natural environments we inhabit. As a queer interdisciplinary artist based largely in rural Colorado, I find endless inspiration in the landscapes of the Great Plains and the Intermountain West.
