We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma and Randi Hanson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emma and Randi, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Fake it til you make it. We disagree because there is a level of confidence you can fake but doing your job well requires admitting you don’t know everything and you need to learn. Making mistakes is an important part of owning a business. Be okay with the process.

What should our readers know about your business?
We are a small coffee shop in the heart of downtown Wellington. We are proud to bring the best coffee and pastries as well as a warm and heartfelt sense of community. It is more than coffee for us here at Owl Canyon. We strive to make a difference for every since person that walks in the door. It is also a great honor to be an all female owned company and stand out in that regard. Additionally, we are also super lucky to have some of the best staff around. Everyone we work with is unique and qualified to make our business better. Our desire to serve and our incredible staff are some of the best things that make us stand out!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love Wellington because it offers so many unique small businesses! We love to shop at our local gift shop, Thistle. We also love to visit both of the small breweries in town! Sparge Brewing and Soul Squared make the top of our list for best hangout spots in town!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We are so thankful first and foremost to our regulars. Our customers give us the community and motivation to keep going even in the toughest circumstances. We are also so thankful to our family, who have always supported our crazy dreams and endeavors.
