We had the good fortune of connecting with Allison Song and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allison, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I first started rebranded my business, it consumed my life. I worked on the branding and new jewelry styles for many, many late nights. But after a few months, I was realizing how it was negatively affecting my mental health, social life, and my family. I took a step back to reprioritize aspects of my life and knew that getting more rest and creating quality time with family & friends would ultimately help me as an individual. And in turn, having a better work life balance helped me become more motivated, creative, and free!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Heritage & Bloom is very much an extension of my own life and narrative. Unearthing stories from the past can be inspiring but also very challenging – I try my best to bring my experiences into my work through my brand values and mission. I’ve also been working on a new heritage collection which I am very excited to release this spring/summer. I hope to inspire others to tap into their own unique cultural identities and further root themselves in what makes them special!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Old Town Fort Collins is a magical town filled with gems of small businesses. If my best friend came to visit, I would take her to Little Bird Bakeshop for coffee + pastries, order us a cheese platter from The Welsh Rabbit for an afternoon snack after hiking at Reservoir Ridge, and end the evening at the newly renovated Ace Gillett’s. And of course, enjoy all the unique shops that Old Town has to offer like Makerfolk and Sunday Supply Co. For adventures outside our little city, I would take her to explore the Rocky Mountains or even further out to Glenwood Springs for a beautiful drive and to enjoy the hot springs.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate a special shoutout to my husband! He has been with me through every hill and valley in creating and running my business. Without his steadfast love and support, I and my business wouldn’t be where we are today!
