We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Guffey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The reason I started this business is because I wanted to showcase my variety of art skills in a way that would be both creatively fulfilling for me and allow me to be financially free from the 9 to 5. I’ve always believed that if you’re happy at your job that you’ll be successful in life because you spend the majority of your life working. If you’re happy and pursuing your passions, there’s nothing more successful than that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what makes my art unique is that it comes from my heart. I like to take things that most people wouldn’t pay attention to and make it beautiful in a way that they can’t ignore. Of course, reaching the point where I am today was not easy. There’s so many trials and tribulations with being an artist. They’re called starving artists for a reason. I think what keeps me going is helpful fulfilled. I feel when I create a beautiful piece of art, whether it be candles or jewelry or bones.” Should say “ I think what keeps me going is feeling fulfilled when I create a beautiful piece of art, whether it be candles, jewelry or bones.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I owe so much credit to everyone in my life who has supported me on this journey. So many people have encouraged me and push pushed me to focus on my art, including my significant other and my daughter, my parents, my grandmother and the community. Without everyone I would not be able to continue doing what I do the love propels me.” Should say “pushed” only once and “what I do. The love propels me” it’s a run on sentence.
