We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Griffith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been an off the wall, out of the box person. I’ve felt isolated and outcasted since childhood. Throughout my life, I never quite fit into any one environment — not in school, not in social circles, not in my sportting teams, not in corporate — but I kept trying.
At 18, I self-diagnosed myself with ADHD, but it wasn’t until after having my little dude River in 2023 that I discovered what that “quirk” truly was: I’m autistic. And have been HEAVILY masking to fit in and seek acceptance my whole life. This realization helped me understand SOOO much about my life and started to help me find solace for things I’ve always blamed myself or had imposter syndrome for. I actually went to college for Kineseology and have applied a lot of the medical and neurological studies to understanding all of these traits.

I spent over a decade at a Fortune 500 company in Product Marketing, Finance, HR, Analytics and Brand Management. I’ve ALWAYS been the heavily creative friend but I have an extremely analytical and strategic brain so there has never been the right place for me in any work or social culture. I’ve always had to pretend and create personas or minimize myself to get acceptance and blend in. Then when I left the major corporation I spent my tenure at for a tech company, that is when things changed. I got laid off at 8 months pregnant, and 2 months before that – I for some reason decided to file an LLC and open some business accounts. Actually.. I created my website domain in 2019 in the hopes of having a mobile flower shop ran out of VW bus. This has been a long dream coming.

Starting my own business was the only option where my marriage and self could fully be happy. A new environment where my creativity, my hyperfocus, weird working hours and my unique way of thinking weren’t just accepted, but celebrated and acknowledged. It allowed me to channel my energy into creating things I truly believe in and making OTHERS feel good, instead of spending it trying to fit in. I want to use my talents (that I finally am acknowledging and owning) to make a CHANGE.

I started with inspiration from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (and a little Phish & TSwift) making merch in my Ohio home on Etsy with my Cricut.. And that is still a HUGE component to my brand and business. I then took a HUGE risk and started traveling last year for King Gizz’s tour to sell my merch while my AMAZING husband was home with my 1 year old (I mean it was like a few weekends, not months haha). I then got the opportunity to start photographing the band. And all of this opened up my world to figuring out the next moves and finding my creative, curious, brave self I was so many years ago. It’s been INCREDIBLY challenging to find a way that I could monetize the vast amount of my experiences I’ve earned and blend a heavy business mind with an even heavier creative brain.

I’m actually an official vendor at King Gizzard’s first US music festival here in Buena Vista, Colorado – “Field of Vision” – at Meadow Creek this August!!

We moved to Denver in April, but before we left Ohio I reached my peak using my Cricut and made a risky move to invest in a commercial grade embroidery machine. Now I’m launching and building Green Coast Embroidery here in Colorado (but nationwide shipping).. a premium quality embroidery biz for creatives, bands, musicians, and everything in between.
But the BIGGEST work in progress is “The Neuropreneur”, a program to help AuDHD and ADHD use their talents and passions to find a journey like mine, or just help them get shit done. I’m working to trademark the program right now.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Green Coast Co. is a brand. There isn’t an option in the dropdown box to select from to encompass what I am creating — and honestly the same goes for me. I created this business because I couldn’t find anything out there that fit what I am capable of – so I’m figuring out a way to do it myself and keep growing the massive purpose I know I have.

I want to bridge the gap between the introvert and extrovert, the business brain and creative, the incredibly talented artist who is overwhelmed by reaching out to distributors or is intimidated by the thought of seeing their work be turned into something really dope.

What makes Green Coast Co. different is that I’ve created a one-stop shop — especially for small businesses, bands, and creative entrepreneurs who don’t have time to chase down five different vendors. I’ve done that legwork already. I’ve built my own network of trusted print partners and suppliers by testing and using them myself — so I know the quality is there.

Need affordable concert photography? Dope – can’t wait to see your band jam.
Need commercial grade embroidery, patches, hats, merch, stickers, banners, or a rebrand? I’ve got you.
Need someone who’s neurodivergent and has DONE IT to help you turn your gifts, talents, passions into a business or just simply get stuff done? My career, gymnastics coaching and cheerleading backgrounds make a great combo to do just this.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’ve only lived in Colorado 3 months, so actually I could use some suggestions haha.

But I have went to New Terrain in Golden a few times and that’s a fun vibe. DOPE music, dope beer and incredible views.. also lots of doggies 🙂

The best margarita I have found thus far – is at Max Gill & Grill in Wash Park… The happy hour is lit and the marg is made with fresh ingredients.. chefs kiss.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Justin and I have been together 16 years this October. If he didn’t believe in me and what my vision was, none of this would be happening. We wanted to change the paradigm and figure out a way to make our happy places our livelihood – and raise our little potato in that environment. Most recently, since our move to Colorado in April, Justin has transitioned into being a full-time dad and joined the business. He’s now assisting me with inventory management, customer service and order fulfillment as I focus on growing the other parts of the business.

I wanted to be able to fully help River’s talents and gifts be nurtured, seen, understood and be a part of his everyday life. I want to put everything I’ve got into making one incredible, kind, talented tiny human who can make big changes in this world.

Corporate wise, I want to give the biggest SHOUTOUT to Krystal Mindeck. She was imperative to the entire trajectory of my career journey that began at Sherwin-Williams over a decade ago. Krystal saw potential in me, and took the time to teach me key skills that aided in my success in a very difficult corporate environment.

But handsdown, I HAVE to give the BIGGEST credibility shout out to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (and teams). They have a prerogative that is focused on making music and art sharable, inspiring and uplifting others, and have morals and ethics that are just so pure. Their humble kindness, brave, vulnerable and honest artistry has created Brittany 2.0. I have found my people after 37 years – true friends. I am forever grateful for the changes in my life that are directly related to everything that they are doing.
