We had the good fortune of connecting with Carisa Diesburg and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Carisa, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Yoga is a dance between control and surrender- between pushing and letting go- and when to push and when to let go becomes part of the creative process, part of an open ended exploration of your being” This quote resonates not only on the yoga mat but off the mat. As we build our practice, we become more aware of how, when and where we should push and pull our mind, body and spirit. Off the mat, we can use the same methods to deepen our own understanding of connection, healing, learning and acceptance. Enjoying the moments of the dance.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am married to a wonderful Landscape Architect, we have two awesome kids. I started practicing yoga roughly 9 years ago, when our kids were born. I fell in love with the Vinyasa flow. A heated humid studio that connected dance like movements to breath. Eventually, I studied to become a RYT 200 yoga teacher receiving my certification in April 2017. I’ve continued to have the joy and gratitude to teach at many studios in the Evergreen area. Recently updating my credentials to E-RYT 200 and YACEP
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I enjoy hiking…my local town of Conifer has a many great hikes but my favorite is to the top of Legault Mountain. Our family’s favorite restaurant is the Muddy Buck in Evergreen. The kids love the hot chocolate and the giant cinnamon rolls, I love the huge salads and my husband is always up for a great cup of coffee
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
All the yoga teachers who taught me how to practice yoga, all the studios who supported my teaching/classes, all my students who show up to practice day after day
