We had the good fortune of connecting with Debbie Fox and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Debbie, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
For me, creating is an energy flow of evolving expression. Regardless of the creative medium, a creative career provides the creator a platform to outwardly express emotion that originates from within. The ultimate gift of a creative career is connection; between the creator and individual/collective audience.

Throughout my decades-long corporate career in law firms and corporations supporting executive teams — administrative roles of corporate facilities management, certified meeting professional setting strategy and managing all aspects of global conferences and other executive initiatives — successfully connecting with others to change behavior was the measure of success. I’ve always enjoyed the opportunity to positively influence behavior and exceed expectations, which in itself requires creativity through the use of macro and micro lens. Evolving is most natural to my being.

A decade ago, the death of my husband from cancer resulted in me turning within; introspectively to my improve my health and wellbeing. I walked down the pathway for improved self care, spirituality and holistic lifestyle focused on mind, body and spirit. The drumbeat of the corporate world no longer resonated with me, I longed for something different, more fulfilling, balanced keeping me centered. And so I stepped away from corporate roles. This did not mean my creative expression seized to exist. I found myself leaning into daily inspiration as a way to more joyfully navigate life.

Along the way, I have been complimented by many about my writing style and the ability to articulate meaningful stories. On a specific tropical vacation, I felt as though an assignment has been gifted to me from a higher source; becoming an inspirational writer with the premise that life comes at us in all forms, good and bad, but through it all choice is a superpower — how we navigate a circumstance is up to us. And so, Flow With Debbie Fox LLC as founded … as a writing platform.

I hired a marketing professional to create branding around my vision, design and launch a website eventually expanding into video creation, blogging, social media influencer and designing athleisure wear and hard goods with positive messages encouraging others to live an inspirational life that suits them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Prior to founding Flow With Debbie Fox LLC, my decades-long career was spent in administrative work as an executive assistant, legal assistant, certified meeting professional and certified event design of global conference, facilities management.

Before creating Flow, I’m most proud of numerous, successful global conferences for the corporation I was employed. Attendees from 60 countries representing Fortune 100 companies were present. Leading teams to set strategy, manage and execute significant conferences and events exceeded attendee expectations.

Raising my hand as a self-professed workaholic, long hours were part of the successful equation. Beyond rolling up sleeves and feet on the ground, education was important to me. As a single, working mom, over time I completed my bachelor and master degrees in business management and leadership. Advanced degrees armed with with knowledge and confidence regularly interacting with executive teams to bring valuable perspective to projects.

The downside from workaholic behavior is burnout. Brought to a head when my husband was diagnosed with cancer, I realized my personal lifestyle imbalance. Having the courage to walk away from a lucrative career by far my most important accomplishment. Reaching the ability to relax into the unknown and follow my heart is a fulfilling gift. I remain dedicated to education in the form of workshops, reading, interaction with influencers. Flow With Debbie Fox LLC is an authentic extension and creative reflection of my soul’s work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As much time in nature as possible! Living in Colorado makes checking this box easy. Downtown Golden along Clear Creek, picnicking or coffee sipping while gazing at water flowing downstream. A trip to Red Rocks Amphitheatre — Yoga on the Rocks or any concert. A drive to the mountains for an epic hike. Coffee or cocktails on my backyard patio, Olde Town Arvada, Boulder to name a few dreamy destinations. Soaking in a performance at Denver Center for Performing Arts, whether the ballet, symphony or Broadway production. Cooking from scratch in my home where I love serving friends and family. Cycling along Ralston Creek Trail. Golfing at a local golf course with Fossil Trace Golf Club a favorite. Latin dancing (Bachata or Salsa) at La Rumba nightclub.
