We had the good fortune of connecting with Devan House and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devan, what inspires you?
We are continually inspired by the transformative impact Pilates has on individuals’ lives. The many stories shared with us about how Pilates has made a meaningful difference serve as a powerful reminder of our purpose and are a constant source of motivation for our work.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I’ve spent over a decade in the fitness and wellness space, and for me, it’s always been about more than movement—it’s about connection. As a 950-hour comprehensively trained, third-generation Pilates instructor, I’ve had the privilege of learning from lineage-rich mentors and blending classical foundations with modern creativity. I’ve taught everything from TRX to yoga, but Pilates is where I truly found my voice.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine anatomical insight with intuitive teaching, making movement accessible, empowering, and deeply intentional. I’m proud of the inclusive environment I’ve helped build at Club Pilates Castle Rock, and especially proud of mentoring fellow instructors and helping them grow in their own teaching journeys.

Getting here wasn’t easy. Like many instructors, I’ve navigated shifting schedules, evolving client needs, and the challenge of balancing creativity with consistency. But I’ve learned that community, compassion, and staying curious are key.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that teaching is never just about the exercises—it’s about how you make people feel. Whether I’m guiding a client through their first Hundred or supporting a peer in refining their flow, I lead with intention, empathy, and a deep respect for the power of movement.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
