We had the good fortune of connecting with Meisha Gaines and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meisha, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I am inspired by the freedom of choice. I belive it is a gift from God to have free will, the ability to choose which direction to go. In life there are obsticles and unforseen events. I feel like the freedom of choice allows us to take each situation and make it into something positive or negative. In my life I have been inspired to keep going despite the odds and have had the freedom to chose a better path for myself.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Stories have always been the way I make sense of the world, and I express them through every medium I can; music, photography, design, film, and performance. My music video Focused by MeMoney was a milestone, allowing me to direct, produce, cast, and bring a creative vision to life, showing my growth as an artist who evolves across mediums.

From performing music across Colorado to studying graphic design, photography, and video editing, I’ve learned that each form of art offers a new way to connect with people. Working as a photographer and content creator for events, editing videos, and directing my own projects has taught me how to blend technical skill with emotional storytelling.

Throughout this journey, my mom and grandmother have been my biggest supporters, fueling my passion and drive. My work is about more than creating visuals, it’s about crafting experiences that resonate, whether through a song, a staged scene, a photograph, or a fully produced video. What I want the world to know is that I am an artist constantly evolving, exploring, and using every tool I have to tell stories that matter.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d show her the best of adventure, food, and unforgettable experiences. We’d start the trip with a relaxing day at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort, soaking in the natural beauty and unwinding from the start. The first day would be all about delicious food….endless brunches with mimosas, local snacks, hearty steaks, and anything else we could find in the charming small town nearby.

The next day would be adventurous with ziplining, hiking through the mountains, and capturing epic photos in the breathtaking scenery. Even if she’s a little wary of bugs, I’d make sure she experiences the joy of a mountain hike. We’d explore God’s green earth, laugh, make content rapping and dancing along the trails, and just soak in the moment.

For me, the most fun experiences are spontaneous and unplanned, turning into lasting memories. We’d finish the week visiting amusement parks or local attractions, keeping the energy high and the adventure flowing. Nature, new experiences, good food, music, and laughter are the perfect recipe for an unforgettable week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Thank God for the book of Proverbs. I have always had times in life that a wise choice needed to be made in order to move forward. I feel like the book of Proverbs has kept me on the right path. I also want to shout out my grandparents Willie and Debra for always believing in me. They passed away but the love and lessons they taught me live on. Rest in Paradise to them both.
