We had the good fortune of connecting with Eric Burden and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eric, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I had been gardening and growing mushrooms for 12 years when Denver decriminalized magic mushrooms. Throughout those years I had been ripped off by many online companies trying to get mushroom spores. Either they would be of poor quality, would take months to receive them, or wouldn’t show up at all. I set out to provide top quality products sent in a timely manner. Many people are using mushrooms for mental health benefits. Understanding this, and having battles with depression myself, I was dedicated to give access to people wanting to grow their own medicines at home.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Denver Spore Company is a provider for magic mushroom spores and supplies. Magic mushroom (Psilocybin) spores are legal for sale and possession in all 50 states except for California, Georgia and Idaho. Spores are essentially the “seeds” of mushrooms. They are microscopic and produced in the hundreds of thousands by just one mushroom. These are collected in sterile environments and suspended into a aqueous solution inside of syringes. Using HEPA filtration and sterile techniques, ensures the quality of the syringes. We take every precaution to ensure quality and always replace products deemed unsatisfactory to the customer. Striving for happy customers, we are easy to contact and host many events in the Denver area. Building a safe and educated community is an ever going, and rewarding effort.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If it’s winter time we are going to the mountains, hopefully snowboarding and bringing PB&J sandwiches. Summer, catch a Red Rocks show, Chatfield reservoir for wake-surfing and wakeboarding. Do some camping in the mountains or go golfing. We’d eat at Zig-Zag Smokin’ Burger in Centennial and grab a calzone at The Well in the Highlands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My loving and supportive family, Stephanie, and the entire mycology community. My friends and dogs that are always there for me.
