Meet Jenny Uribe | Lash Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jenny Uribe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jenny, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, in a loving home with two siblings and both parents. My parents are pretty traditional and encouraged us to attend college, which we all did, to pursue conventional career paths. However, during my university years, I began to realize that I wanted to become a successful entrepreneur like my dad. It was during Covid that I seriously considered how to make that happen. I’ve always had an interest in the beauty industry, and after researching lash extensions, I knew immediately that it was the path for me. My upbringing has profoundly shaped my character and values, instilling in me the importance of working hard for what you want in life.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart is my deep appreciation for my craft and the pride I take in the quality of services I provide. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment in my studio, UriLuxe Aesthetics, ensuring that every client leaves feeling more confident.
I spent the first year of my lash career working at a salon, but in August 2023, I received the perfect opportunity to share a studio with friends. As any lash artist knows, this job can be tedious and detail-oriented, but my resilience has helped me overcome the challenges I’ve faced. I am focused on my end goals and won’t quit until I achieve them. I am genuinely proud of my journey and excited to see what the future holds.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would plan a fun and relaxed itinerary for my friends. First, I’d take them to Denver Biscuit Company for a delicious brunch, a staple in Denver. Then, we’d head to RiNo to ride scooters and explore the graffiti art. I’d also recommend visiting Meow Wolf and possibly catching a Rockies game.
If the weather permits, attending a concert at Red Rocks would be a highlight. To escape the city, I’d take them to Georgetown for some white-water rafting and plan a scenic hike in the Rocky Mountains.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I feel incredibly blessed to have such an amazing support system. I want to give a special shout-out to my mom and my sister, Kristie Uribe. They are my rocks and the ones I turn to for advice or a good venting sesh!
I’d also like to shout-out my best friend, Malin Spearman. She always encourages me to keep going, even when things get tough. As fellow lash artists, it’s wonderful to have someone who truly understands my journey.
(P.S. check out her interview from last week as well)
