Meet Jessica Rinfret | Chief Operations Officer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Rinfret and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting our own business was mostly about creating something of our own. Jon always knew that he wanted to create something of his own that could make a difference. When we discovered the world of water damage restoration, he knew that this was the kind of help he wanted to give people.
He liked meeting new clients every day. He liked solving slightly different water damage problems every day. He even enjoyed trying to find those hard to find leaks that were causing damage. He became accustomed to the after hours calls and enjoyed responding to customers in their time of need in the middle of the night even. Restoration was an avenue to be part of the Denver community and add value to the Denver community – even if it was just a “mom and pop” type of value. We never expected it to grow to what it is now and be able to help as many people as we do on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as we do currently.
There wasn’t a huge plan behind the process of starting a business other than we wanted to do it, so we did.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Every business is unique. I recently heard businesses likened to tiny, unique snowflakes. Which sounded odd at first, but makes sense. No one has the same story of how they came to be in existence. What sets Jon and I apart with All Pro Restoration is that we are determined to make it happen, even when it is hard. We are determined to make a difference, even when it is not the popular thing. Denver is our home base. It is where our passion is. It is where we know that we can bring honest, truthful and compassionate restoration to homeowners across the state.
Building All Pro Restoration was not an easy feat. It took blood, sweat and tears. And a lot of it. It took many restless/sleepless nights. Jon and I came from nothing, had nothing and started it all from nothing. All we had was determination. Of that, we are proud.
Jon has always said that education is expensive, no matter where you get it. And the same is painfully true for a business owner that does not have formal business training. So, there were challenges to overcome along the way simply because we did not know how a business worked. The inner workings of business such as insurance requirements, certification requirements, employee sustainability, company culture, tax liabilities, and so much more are things you learn along the way. There is no blueprint for it. And some of the lessons come really hard, fast and at a price too. The best lesson I learned along the way was what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Sure, business is tough. The economy is tough. The market is tougher. But it hasn’t taken us down yet and therefore, we are becoming stronger because of it.
The image of our brand is an apple with an arrow through it. And whether you’re a teacher, a health enthusiast or an outdoor sportsman enthusiast, the brand speaks to most people in some way. With the primary topic being true to your mark, and right on target. That is what All Pro Restoration strives for day in and day out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit me, I would definitely want to show them a great time and make sure they had a chance to see all that Denver has to offer. One of my favorite places to take family members is actually the Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg, CO. It is a little known treasure of wild animal rescue enthusiasts that have humanely and safely saved a lot of animals from unnecessary abuse/mistreatment.
From there, I like to take people to small restaurants like Shooters in Byers, CO or even experience restaurants like Texas de Brazil.
Since my best friend has 3 kids and I have 1, we would also want to go down to the Cheyenne Zoo in Colorado Springs, CO as that is one of the most exciting zoos I’ve been to in my life.
Other than that, we would likely just hang out, enjoy the scenery, drink some coffee and relax at home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Over the years of owning All Pro Restoration, there were many people that were not supportive of what we were doing or how we were doing it. Many doubted us. Told us we worked too hard. Told us we were going to burn ourselves out and have nothing left. But slowly but surely we started hiring the right people that bought into what we were doing. Sure, there were some along the way that did not buy into what we were doing and they eventually left. But there is a core group of employees that have stuck it out along the way, supported our decisions, even when they seemed a little crazy and provided us with the backbone and cornerstone that we needed to get All Pro Restoration off the ground and making a difference. This team includes Laurie Coffel (10 years), Abraham Zapata (8 years), Victor Zapata (8 years) and Crystal Barela (6 years). Along with others that have come to work with us along the way since. Most employees that leave, do so on good terms and remain friends with us as well as our staff members. We have done our best to create a company culture that creates inclusivity and teamwork. One that focus on ownership of all levels of all positions. Even the “little guy” counts. Everyone’s opinions are taken into consideration. This concept comes from the book Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin. As well as their secondary book, The Dichotomy of Leadership. We implemented this in our business over 3 years ago and it took the team to a new level entirely.
So, long story short, we would dedicate this Shoutout to our long term, supportive staff as well as Extreme Ownership.
