We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliana Wilfong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliana, why did you pursue a creative career?
Because of My Kids.
I’ve always loved photographing family, friends, and the outdoors. But everything changed when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. I thought, maybe I should take this seriously, and create beautiful, artistic photos so my daughter could have those memories and show them to her kids one day.

So that’s exactly what I did. I started taking classes, attending workshops, reading everything I could, and practicing with my camera any chance I got.

Since the day they were born, my daughter and my son have been my biggest inspiration. They’re the reason I picked up a camera with purpose—and they continue to push me to grow, learn, and create every single day.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Photography has always been deeply personal for me. It began with a love for capturing moments of my family and friends, but it became something much more when I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I realized I wanted to save every beautiful memory for my kids in a way that felt meaningful and timeless. That’s when I decided to take photography seriously—taking classes, joining workshops, and practicing whenever I could.

I know how fast time goes by, how quickly our children grow, and how much we want to hold on to the little moments, expressions, and milestones. I always aim to create photos that feel warm, joyful, and real—images that families will treasure for years to come.

Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. Balancing motherhood, homeschooling, and running a business has brought many challenges. There were moments of doubt, late nights editing, and lots of learning along the way. But I kept going, fueled by my love for photography and my desire to create something meaningful for families.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that growth takes time. It’s okay to start small, to keep learning, and to grow little by little. I’ve also learned that building a business with love and honesty brings the most rewarding connections. And I continue to learn every single day.

If there’s one thing I want people to know about Juliana Wilfong Photography, it’s that it’s more than just a photography service—it’s a way to celebrate the people you love most. Every session is created with love, care, and intention.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d show them the perfect mix of mountain beauty and local charm. Some of my closest friends from Brazil visit almost every year, so here’s what we usually do: explore downtown Parker, visit Castlewood Canyon, Garden of the Gods, Castle Rock, Rocky Mountain National Park, Vail, Denver, Golden, and Boulder.

We go on hikes, enjoy nice restaurants, and have coffee or tea—sometimes at the Brown Palace in Denver for a special tea time. Evenings are spent relaxing at home, having good laughs, and playing with the kids.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this to my family—my greatest inspiration and love. My daughter, Luana, my son, Thomas, and my husband, Bob. My husband has supported me through every step of this journey, and the inspiration my little ones bring me each day is what fuels my passion. Their love and presence in my life are the reasons I do what I do. I’m so grateful for them every single day.
