Meet Lorenzo Chavez

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lorenzo Chavez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lorenzo, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My Philosophy on Risk
I believe risk is the entry fee for a life of growth. For years, I sought comfort and stability, but experience has taught me that true security comes from knowing you can navigate a storm, not from perpetually avoiding one. My philosophy is simple: rough seas make stronger sailors. To me, taking a meaningful risk isn’t about the thrill of a gamble; it’s about choosing a path with heart, one that promises to teach you something profound, even when the lesson comes with a cost.
The Story That Shaped Me
The moment that defined my relationship with risk wasn’t a business decision; it was a life decision. I was running a thriving real estate business in my hometown, helping families find their first homes and build their futures. By every metric, I was successful. But I would look at pictures of my son growing up in Broomfield and feel the sharp, undeniable truth that time was a currency I couldn’t earn back. So I made my choice. I walked away from the business I had poured my soul into to be the present, everyday dad I needed to be.
That single decision set in motion a humbling and brutal chapter of my life. I went from being a business owner to taking on survival jobs, trying to find my footing. My inherent optimism led me to a few high-stakes sales roles where I bet everything on a quick comeback. I remember the feeling of pushing so hard, believing so fiercely in a breakthrough, even as the ground crumbled beneath me. Watching it all fall apart wasn’t just a financial loss; it was a profound stripping away of my identity. It felt like failure in its purest form.
But in the quiet that followed that storm, I found something more valuable than anything I had lost. I discovered a strength I never knew I had. The experience forced me to confront my definitions of success and failure, and it replaced them with a deep sense of gratitude for the people who stood by me and a clear-eyed understanding of my own resilience. The fire didn’t consume me; it forged me into someone new.
Who I Am Today
That journey is the engine behind everything I do now. Today, my ambition to build a 1,000-door real estate portfolio isn’t just a financial goal—it’s the next chapter of my story. I’m strategically learning the property management business from the inside out, mastering everything from tenant relations to the complex financial modeling of large-scale operations. I’m learning Spanish not just as a new skill, but as a way to build bridges and create opportunities within my community. I’m rebuilding with a foundation of hard-won wisdom, not just ambition. I know there will be more risks and more storms, but now, I know how to sail.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is built on a foundation of proven results and a strategic vision for growth. For years, I specialized in identifying undervalued residential properties and transforming them through high-quality renovations. This is where I honed my skills and built my reputation.
What Sets Me Apart & What Excites Me
What truly sets me apart is the owner’s perspective I bring to every project. I’m not a distant manager; I’m on the ground, deeply involved from acquisition to sale. This ensures meticulous quality control and protects the bottom line. I’m most proud of my consistent track record: in my previous ventures, I routinely delivered double-digit returns, often exceeding 10%, to my investors. This isn’t just a number; it represents a promise kept and a trust well-placed.
What excites me now is the opportunity to scale. I have a core belief that there is strength in numbers, and the ability to scale comes with trust. My vision is to take my proven model and apply it to the multifamily space. By forming strategic partnerships, we can tackle larger, more impactful projects that help everyone involved travel further and achieve greater financial success.
The Journey and Lessons Learned
My path here was anything but easy. I learned this business from the ground up, through hands-on work and more than a few costly mistakes. Navigating everything from unexpected construction issues to volatile market shifts taught me invaluable lessons in rigorous due diligence, conservative financial modeling, and the absolute necessity of a reliable network.
The most profound lesson has been that my past setbacks were actually preparing me for a bigger future. They equipped me with the foresight to anticipate problems and the resilience to overcome them, making me a much sharper and more prudent investor today.
My Brand and Vision for the Future
I want the world to know that my brand is built on integrity, performance, and partnership. I don’t just treat investment capital like my own; on every deal, a significant portion of it is my own. My personal stake is always aligned with my partners, ensuring every decision is made with a shared commitment to success.
My story is one of resilience and a relentless drive to build. I am now actively seeking partnerships with investors who are ready to scale into the multifamily space. I have the experience, the system, and the hard-won wisdom to lead these projects, and I’m looking for partners who believe, as I do, that by combining our strengths, we can build a truly significant and profitable portfolio together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is dedicated entirely to my family, who have been the anchor and the lighthouse in my journey.
At the very center of it all is my son, Nathaniel. You’re my Why. Every risk I’ve taken, every challenge I’ve faced, and every bit of determination I have is fueled by my love for you and my mission to build a better future for us. You are the reason for everything.
I also have to honor my incredible support system. My brother has been the “rich dad” in my life—a mentor whose wisdom and guidance have been invaluable. Alongside him, my sister and my parents have provided a constant, unwavering harbor of emotional support and unconditional love. I could have never risked everything, sailing into those rough seas, without knowing I had a safe place to land.
They are my foundation. Their collective belief in me gave me the courage to face failure and the strength to rebuild. Any success I achieve is a direct reflection of their love, and I am eternally grateful.
