Meet Nikole Spiess | Entertainer & Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikole Spiess and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I choose to pursue a creative career because I needed something to feed my soul. I worked in the corporate world for 21 years before switching to entertainment and dance. There is nothing in this world that makes me happier than being on stage, expressing myself, and making people feel good at the same time.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is the sensual and comedic expression of female sexuality. Sex, art, and music are my three passions. I’m so grateful I can blend those worlds together and create magic with some of the most talented entertainers in Denver.
Its exciting to bring my perspective to the community as a bi-racial native of Denver. I fell in love with neoburlesque and the lack of boundaries involved with that style of performance. Shortly after starting burlesque in 2019, I also picked up pole and became obsessed with the sexy art form. Now my style has brought those forms of dance together to create the magical world of Pennie Please and The Dream Girls.
It has been extremely hard to break into the dance scene as a producer and I was not taken seriously for quite sometime. When the pandemic hit Denver and all the venues shut down, it was depressing not having a creative outlet and an audience to connect with. My burlesque partner Penny Spectacular came up with the idea to produce a burlesque show online and I knew immediately that online platforms would have to be the answer to performances for awhile. After one online show with Penny, I decided to create Dream Girls Burlesque with a few of my friends. The pandemic allowed me to reach beyond state borders to find amazing performers and that’s how the national troupe Dream Girls Burlesque began. We are a diverse, inclusive, and whimsical group of baddies supporting other women and making the world a better place one pastie at a time.
I love being the underdog and underestimated. Challenges and setbacks usually motivate me to work harder and never give up on myself. My goal in life is to inspire others to express themselves, break free of the status quo, and be open to the uniqueness of others. I have met the most incredible people along this creative journey
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
You cannot come to Denver and skip Red Rocks! Attending a concert at Red Rocks when the sky is clear and the moon is full will change your life!
Femme Fatale Intimates, Disguises, and Coco Coquette are a few of my favorite local shopping spots in Denver.
My favorite munchie spots are Cheba Hut and Biker Jim’s
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my burlesque troupe of badasses The Dream Girls. They inspire me everyday and they are the most exceptional humans I’ve met.
