We had the good fortune of connecting with Pia Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Growing up, I never said “I want to be an entrepreneur!” But thinking back, I’ve been an entrepreneur from day one. But I took a more traditional path at first — and I quickly climbed the ladder in the tech and startup world. I found myself at the pinnacle of my great-on-paper career. I’d checked all the boxes — sensible degrees, good job, promotion, good job, promotion. I’d reached the “destination” I’d been taught for my entire life to strive for…at the age of 23 — and then my world was rocked by “What now? Is this what I do for the next 40 years?” That was a full body ‘no’ for me. I just had this knowing that sitting in a windowless office, working for someone else’s dream 12 hours a day for the rest of my career would kill me. While I was “successful” by most definitions — I was miserable. I was overworked and underpaid. I felt like my job was draining me of everything that made me, me. I wanted to change the world by being me. I knew that there were people who needed (and could hugely benefit from) exactly what comes effortlessly to me. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had so much more to offer — I was so much more than what I was doing in my career. That I could leave a real, tangible, lasting impression on this world by being exactly who I am — and be paid generously in the process. …but I just couldn’t see a path to that working for someone else. So I quit. I woke up one day and said “I’m done.” I quit my job with no financial runway, no leads, and frankly — no idea what my business was actually going to be. And I set out to be wildly successful doing what I had always been great at. Today, I’m the CEO of a multiple six-figure business (and growing in-house team!) that consults female entrepreneurs to help them scale their dream. Curate Well Co. is a community that supports entrepreneurs in creating savvy, streamlined, strategic businesses. I combine purpose and process to give you the strategy, structure (and spreadsheets!) to operate your impact-driven, people-first business at scale — think of me as your outsourced Chief Strategy Officer.
What should our readers know about your business?
Curate Well Co. is where purpose meets process. You won’t find copy-and-paste strategies around here but you will find systems that honor the really human elements of your business. You won’t hear us telling you that you have to do a massive live launch to be successful but you will hear us talk about our data-backed approach to amplifying your impact. You won’t see us glorifying the “hustle” culture but you will see us empowering you to take aligned action toward your ambitious goals. Because if you’re going to reach 1 million women, you’re going to need a different approach — one that’s customized, aligned, authentic, humanized, sustainable. We’re a home for impact-driven entrepreneurs who want to scale intentionally. We’re an advocate for caring CEOs who value people over profit. We’re an anchor for smart decision makers who want to grow without sacrificing the details. We’re a soapbox for revolutionaries who want to tell a different narrative. We’re a bridge for big visionaries who want to put process behind their purpose. We’re a safe-haven for real women who want to change the world without wearing makeup. When people interact with our brand, we want them to feel like we’re saying, “Pour a cup of strong coffee and settle in — You are seen, heard, and known here.” We’re a community of powerful women — real women. Who are holding immense visions and using their intrinsic abilities to get there. Who aren’t willing to compromise who they are to be successful. Who boldly take aligned action to pave new paths for others to step into. Who lead with compassion. Who are unwilling to sacrifice practicality in their pursuit of possibility. Think of me (Pia) as the most organized person you know, strong coffee drinker, and your Chief Strategy Officer — who’s willing to get in the weeds with you to optimize your gift so you can show up as the leader you are, set the new standard in your industry, and create a community that runs on collaboration, champions your brand, themselves, and each other, and makes every client feel like they’re part of something so much bigger than themselves …without having to put makeup on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents encouraged me to be independent and I think this is one of the things that made it possible for me to take a leap of faith to start my own company. I was taught from a young age to trust myself, figure things out, and take responsibility. My parents also modeled generosity, which is one of my core values today. My mom is one of the most thoughtful people I know, and her consistent, intentional acts of kindness inspired a lot of how we show up for our clients at Curate Well Co., and how I show gratitude and generosity in my personal relationships too. My dad is hard working and a steadfast leader. He taught me how to be a problem-solver and how to think strategically. He also taught me the power of disciplined action and the importance of following through on things. A lot of the structure we provide to our clients at Curate Well Co., and our quick growth can be attributed to these things.
